Ings is a better centre forward than Watkins so not sure how they'd be weaker.

Not for me. I'd much rather have Watkins for his all round game. He's a good finisher, can run the channels and is very good at pressing from the front, which will suit Gerrard perfectly.

Ings is a fantastic finisher, but doesn't match up to Watkins otherwise.

Ings is just a much better footballer. Watkins works harder and that's the only part of his game where he's above Ings. Game of opinions ayit.

they're both good footballers. Ings will score more goals, however will also likely miss 50% of the season.

Ings is very much a Raul to me; sometimes goes through games without making much impact but then will pop up and do something magical to score.

But he's old and basically made of paper at this point. I wouldn't have him on more than a free, much as I like him as a player.

Ings is good but definitely not on that sort of list for me.

Had 3 seasons for Southampton. Played every game 2019, 30 last year which are both pretty decent in terms of availability. 50% is an exaggeration.
