Brighton 3-3 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Need an RCB too, we are way too open with our current FBs in a back 4.
I think when Boly is back we can 'get away' with him and Coady/Saiss personally. Just needs Marcal/Jonny left back in some situations. Long term we do need someone quicker and more mobile for sure.

I can accept that we’ve had terrible luck at times over the past month or so, but it’s pretty clear that the issues we have at the moment can’t be solved by just getting a new striker. The mentality’s all wrong, from coaches and players, and we’re paying for it badly.

Unecessary 2 point drop - Brighton gifted us the game in the first half

Went defensive far too early & Moutinho's penalty give was the game changer.

Real chance at the end but not going to criticise Otasowie as he's not a forward (even if he should have put that away)

We know what we need & Nuno needs to be a bit braver even if we only have kids on the bench - we will have to go with what we have.

1 win in 7 matches real trouble unless we buy Costa or another quality striker

Really disapointing.

the first goal was awful - RAN got turned inside out about three times, and then Saiss positioning was shocking and he completely lost his man. Awful goal.

the second was a complete amateur “challenge”, with moutinho dangling a foot at a player when he was never going to even get near the ball. Beyond awful by the most experienced man on the pitch. Shocking.

the third was just crap blocking an d a deflected header.

more worrying was that we didn’t look like creating much in the second half if it didn’t come from Traore. Neto had his quietest game in ages, Vitinha and Fabio looked like kids playing in the men’s game, out of their depth and not really able to have any influence on the game.

Nuno had no real options on the bench because of injury - and the one he did bring on in Otasawie missed an absolute sitter after another good run and cross by Traore.

really disapointing, we have to do a lot better than that. Hopefully we can get one or two back from injury shortly and bring at least a striker in through the transfer window. The club need to push a bit to support Nuno here.

disapointing second half performance, must do better.

Silva picked a bad time to have his worst game for us.

Front to back, an utterly unacceptable second half performance that should have real consequences for some of these players. As soon as the Maupay penalty went in we looked scared. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen us look scared of an opponent under Nuno.

This is a come to Jesus moment for the team and they can accept nothing less than a win next time out, regardless of the opponent.

Traore is still pooh sticks compared to the dizzy heights of last season.

Really disappointing. So silly from Moutinho to give that penalty away, if we had weathered the Brighton attacks straight after half-time I reckon we see that out with ease.

Team reacted terribly as a collective to their penalty, it was so negative and overly-cautious. Team must be knackered too in fairness but we didn't show enough desire in the second-half, heads dropped and there was no desire to score again and kill the game off - look at the movement when we were in possession, not enough effort to give people options, allowed Brighton to close easy and win the ball back.

Vitinha has offered nothing these last couple of games. I know he's not had much game time but can't see the loan being extended at the moment. Need more options up front.

Need to put Silva on loan to a championship team for rest of season so he can learn, he clearly isn’t ready for the EPL

We are horrible to watch at times and we didn't deserve to be 3-1 up at half time. We were gifted 3 goals and then we gifted them 2 back. The manager has handed the initiative to Brighton with negative substitutions. After Kilman came on they had 2 free headers in our box within 5 minutes one of which resulted in a goal.

I don't really want to see a lot of short term, quick fix transfers in January though. We need a senior striker sure but we just need to get safe this season as our ceiling is going to be mid table and then we need to re evaluate properly in the summer.

We are such a tough watch at times.
