Not to derail such a fascinating thread on our last game (!) but social media has allowed all sorts of misinformation (anti vax, q anon, 5G causing COVID etc etc) to spread really easily, as well as enabling anonymous abuse across continents.

And on the plus side, err - we can find out the wolves team a few seconds quicker?

I just don’t think the positives outweigh the negatives

especially Twitter - it’s a cesspool.

3 years into his tenure IIRC? Pre-dating social media a banner declaring, "Three years of excuses and it's still crap ... ta-ra Fergie" was displayed inside OT.
Considering he was manager for 26 years i'd say 3 years in was early.... :)

There have always been absolute idiots talking complete rot to anyone who'll listen. I remember towards the end of Hoddle's reign, the stock moron in my old local saying in all seriousness that Moxey had told Glenda to finish outside the playoffs so we didn't have to pay any bonuses out. He genuinely believed this kind of nonsense. Remember why the old E&S forums got shut down, it was because some clown kept repeating a libellous conspiracy theory about the Wolves ownership, despite being told not to on multiple occasions. That massively pre-dates Facebook, Twitter etc.

Then you used to have radio phone-ins that were much more popular than they are now and that often had a dreadful tone (moderated by the likes of Tony Butler and Paul Franks who would deliberately set a pretty dubious agenda), fanzines which could be more vitriolic than most written output we see now, deranged letters presumably written in green crayon that would appear in the local press.

It's just a different medium. Arguably it was worse then because pretty much all that rubbish came from grown adults who should know better, rather than a high(ish) proportion of kids that you get on modern social media. And if someone really is raging on like a lunatic, you can just ignore them. Forever. Never have to see anything they ever type, just press a button and they won't be cluttering up your screen.

You get out of it what you want to get out of it.

I think it’s more that it’s allowed like minded fucktards to find each other and spread their poison - some pillock in the pub you can ignore quite happily - a thousand pillocks banding together can do damage.

I've been supporting and watching Wolves for longer than you (for what it's worth) and I disagree with your overall assessment of Moutinho and in particular that he (Moutinho) was the sole reason why we didn't win yesterday evening.
Fair enough. Both of my sons have - independently of me - condemned Moutinho’s performance yesterday. The one in HK saw the match on TV there & Facetimed today - he & the UK son are unaware of my posts on here. He stated without prompting from me that Moutinho is now not good enough at this level - maybe worth 20 minutes at the end of a game. I must admit to being surprised at the high depth of support for Moutinho on this forum. I hope you are all right & I am wrong about him.

After some time to think on Moutinho, I think Dendoncker's injury means we are currently using Joao more than Nuno planned. At the start of the season we were seeing rotation of Neves and Joao, with Dendoncker being the constant in the middle. Now with Donk out, we are in a position where it's only really Neves and Joao left to play there, unless we go Otasowie every game that Nuno seems reluctant to do.

We could play Saiss in midfield, but we won't while Boly is out.

I can understand why he doesn't want Otasowie to play loads but would have thought he could play at least a full half to give Moutinho some rest
There is a need to play him more just now - raw, but willing to put the hard yards in & physically capable of it.

Can get into the box & was noticeable how badly he took his last second miss v Brighton - he clearly wants to do the right thing

I wonder why Corbeanu never gets included, even for 10 minutes

Realistically he's nowhere near first team level right now.

Where he's scoring now is where Benny Ashley-Seal was scoring goals 2-3 years ago. He's currently on 0 goals from 21 League One appearances for Accrington and Northampton since he fleetingly played for our first team.

He's a better footballer than Benny was though.

Not betting your house on the Canadian national side then ?

They have Alphonso Davies. They could just play him on his own and they'd be better than they have been for about 30 years.

There's promise there with Theo (physically he's got a good base to work from for a start) but it's far too early for him. He's there because we have literally no-one else to put on the bench.

What words?

I was correcting an incorrect account posted by somebody you clearly know well. Almost too well 🤔

Anyway, back to those names, do you have anybody to add to the debate?

If not can you please refrain from derailing the conversation?

Well, this forum is exceedingly calm about the team and manager in comparison to the Chelsea fans, who almost to a man/woman want to get rid of Lampard. It's endemic everywhere isn't it?
Perhaps Lamps needs to tell us that Chelsea need to learn & improve - that will assuage the fans!

🤷‍♂️

Do you call yourself BeaverWolf because you're a Dam fool (see what I did there)
