Right off you go.

Weird setup, played ok for 20 mins then shite.

Only Silva lining ;) is his debut goal.

I can see what we were trying to do with the space Semedo was getting and the runs Owen was making but we never got into a situation to utilise it and then we fell off a cliff...stopped at HT and fell off another cliff. Utterly clueless in that opening spell and for that alone we deserved fuck all.

Felt like a real step backwards for long periods of that game.

Similar to the Newcastle game where we started bright, created good openings in final third then looked like we quickly run out ideas.

From 30-85, regardless of set up, the performance was just pure rubbish. Really disappointing.

Set up was wrong, no problem with the shape but Otasowie isn't an attacking midfielder. Just play Podence there, it's where he has excelled in general.

Big two games coming up where we need points to stay on track. Currently playing like a mid table team when we can be more.

Shit performance. We knew going in what they were going to do yet we were so I'll prepared to deal with it. The CBs just got bullied.

In games like this you want Neves making his technical superiority over the opposing midfielders count, especially when we have them out numbered but he was absolute rubbish and he has too many games like this where he really should be grabbing and dominating a game.

The setup didn't help again either, not sure why Nuno keeps dropping Fabio,he might no be Raul but we've already established in previous games we need a focal point in attack. We aren't prime fucking Spain we can't be using 2 wingers up front or false 9s. By doing that tonight we looked toothless in attack and negated all of Podence and Netos attributes when both looked so dangerous in the last game.

This season is a write off in terms of getting into Europe we aren't strong enough, we aren't consistent enough. By the same token we aren't going down. Time to start playing Vitinha and Ait-Nouri to see if they are worth paying those fees to turn their loans into permanents, let's carry on with Fabio and try to integrate him into the country, league and this team. Let's start to introduce Hoever and continue to give Otasowie game time.

If this is a transitional season like people keep saying then we have nothing to lose by playing the above players we will learn a lot more for the future about what we have going forward.

Awful. No penetration at all. The worst game pod has had for us by a mile. We passed it backwards so much, there was no real desire to move forward at pace at all until fab and Adama came on. Completely played into dinosaur Burnley’s hands.

really please for Fabio, youngest ever premier league goal scorer for us, hopefully that will help him kick on for us.

Nuno needs to get a bit of a grip now.

Dreadful performance. I normally try and take the positives in defeat and look at the bigger picture, but apart from Fabio getting off the mark there was nothing to take a positive from.

Tough couple of games over the Xmas period coming up, need some points from one of them

For those who need something pleasant and relaxing to take your mind off that, I recommend Bob Ross and The Joy Of Painting on BBC4 right now. That haircut is mental.

The 'that one's on Nuno' list is unfortunately getting longer and longer. He's not in trouble and neither should he be but a lot of the poorer performances have been on him with team selections, formation and tactics

This one's on Nuno. Bright spot of the Chelsea game aside, we've looked unconvincing and hesitant for large chunks of the season. Even in games we've won.

Otasowie was OK initially, but the front two and him didn't click. Neves continued his generally underwhelming season, RAN is still fresh for us but will be getting Vinagre comparisons before long if he's not careful. Saiss is a bang average CH.

Overplaying in attack, brainless Traore crossing (although before he came on we weren't even crossing), waiting for a wonder goal, terrible set plays.

We take the piss out of Leeds but have the same goal difference

Also, hesitant and uncommunicative in defence, which i put down partlyto the constant tinkering of players and formations this season.

Getting worried that Nuno, far from everything being 'part of his plan' is groping in the dark for his 'solutions'

We'll finish between 8th (at very best) and 14th, closer to later I feel.

Gotta say, I think we've shot ourselves in the foot this season.

Looked like it might work for about 20 minutes. And then it didn't work. At all. We were beaten comfortably and caused problems for ourselves but not the opposition.

Before tonight, this was our best ever start in the Premier League. It doesn't feel like it...

Didn't get to see it unfortunately (fortunately?) but have Neto and Podence upfront just seems odd and it sounds like OO was playing as a 10 - which is also odd.

Neves and Moutinho together doesn't seem to work and it sounds like it didn't again today.

Corners and throw-ins have been poor for so long now, it's a game where fractions make the difference and there is so obviously room for improvement here.

My thoughts before that this is a 4231 game, would that have been better?

I understand the Nuno cautious approach and it's served us well for a couple of seasons but against teams that press fast and continuously it comes unstuck, Burnley had two players on our defenders trying to play out every time whereas in the last 10 mins Neto has it 10 yards out from their goal line and the ball ends up in our half.
And out of respect for Prawnking when Traore came on for five minutes I thought he's back to his best.........

I can’t get my head around that set up I really can’t. Absolutely zero focal point until silva came on. Why is Otowasie being pushed so far forward?
Three games three different formations, to much over complicated thinking if you ask me.
One step forward and two steps back in the last 6 days. I’d say Nuno has got things badly twice in the last for games. He isn’t beyond criticism and deserve it tonight.
However certain players let him down tonight, Saiss and Neves in particular were atrocious.
We’re very mid table this season to many passive performances to suggest anything else. At this time we look worse than we did last season I’m afraid.

I agree with all this but would've started with Vitinha in behind Pod/ Neto so he could pick a pass.

Neves and Moutinho can't play together at the moment they want to occupy the same space all the time.

Why Nuno wanted Otasowie to play ACM I'll never know, he's a ball wining midfielder.

I thought Saiss should've been hooked at HT, it was an appalling performance from him.

Pleased for Fabio but he just isn't ready yet. We need a striker in Jan.

This one's on Nuno, he got this wrong at HT, we should've won the game second half but he changed nothing when it wasn't working. That's piss poor.
