Our first live league game on BBC since...or have we even ever had one?

(I don't know, live league football on BBC is before my time)

Going to assume we're unlikely to see Neto before the chelsea game - though our med staff have worked wonders in the past.
So yes, Jota in from the start. Start at a similar tempo.

Assume the beeb have had us live for an FA cup game? But I can't recall a league game live myself?

Agree with DW's team.
Don't think the BBC have ever covered a live league game have they? I only remember some internationals and the FA cup final being live on the beeb

They did show some in the 80s. Before their first game the other week they showed some highlights of the last time they did it, it was Arsenal vs Spurs from around 87/88.

ITV had the rights from 1988 to 1992, my first season was 88/89.

I think I recall a league game Wolves v Blues game from the early 80's but I'm not sure if it was on ITV or BBC.

Ah well thats what happens to your memory when you get to 62 I suppose

Had a quick look through the BBC Genome site (it's their archive of all TV/radio listings going back to the 1920s) and yeah those 80s games look like the only ones. Lots of European Cup and FA Cup games throughout the years though. Earliest televised game of any kind seems to have been the 1939 FA Cup final.

Reading up then, that was the first season where live league football was broadcast. Our only one that season (as we were shit) and as we didn't reappear in the top flight until 2003 then no, we have never previously had a league game televised live on BBC.

We obviously had dozens on ITV through the 90s when they had regional rights for the Football League.

Right, now that's cleared up...

Pope and Rodriguez are in excellent form for them. We're guaranteed to finish above them if we avoid defeat but I still think we need to go for the win.

This will be one game to 100% have the fake crowd noise on, I am not spending 90 mins listening to Dyche moaning about everything

Yep, would go Jota for Neto. Think Adama playing would really play into how they will want to defend.

McNeil is one to keep an eye on, if he's on the left need our right side to be strong. Doherty struggled against Sheffield United in that scenario. Rodriguez had scored a few so seems in decent form lately.

I am not a fan of diving but if we get a couple of goals in front, can a few of our lads do OTT dives in front of the Burnley bench please just for the lolz and so Dyche explodes

I would bring Moutinho back in as well as Jota.

Probably going to need 6 points for 6th, so I hope we go into the game with the same mentality as yesterday rather than the more containing approach of those before. Burnley are 442 every game so no need for the extra man in midfield. I'd keep Donck in and Neves on set pieces

I think we absolutely need Donck in here for defending set pieces if nothing else.

Is Neto definitely out? Will be a miss without his set pieces, was really good to have an alternative to Moutinho.

It's a calf injury, I don't see any way he's back within three days, in fact I think it's him done for the PL season. Two weeks from now it's all done and dusted.
