Need to win really.

Seems Neves back in training. Raul will surely start too.

Do not play Marçal again, FFS.

As we do weird shit when we play Burnley - Marcal in the false 9 position please Bruno

Losing 2-0. Moving on to the 0-0 v Brighton already.

Imagine be a bit too soon for Ruben but good to see he seems to be back involved in some form of training.

Boly Coady Kilman
Semedo Moutinho Donck Jonny
Trincao Raul Podence

I don't think Boly has been great since he's back. Played well against Watford, but has been various degrees of poor in all the others. I'd rather have Saiss. If Neto can do 50 minutes then start him instead of Trincao

Boly played well against Villa too.

Saiss arguably hasn't had a good game since he came back from AFCON (was excellent before that) and his display against Leeds was the worst of any centre half who's played for us all season.

Apart from the Leeds game (extenuating circumstances?) Don't think Boly has been any better than Saiss, not buying into the 'he's been poor since AFCON' vibe.
Boly seems to have lost a bit of pace from his best and we all know he can get caught out of position at times. Nothing between them imo.

If we play 3-4-3 with Marcal and Hwang on the left, Bruno can get in the bin.
If we don't beat them and he comes out with some 'we couldn't cope with their physicality' nonsense, I'll be starting to have serious doubts.

Watkins' first miss was on him

Nah, not for me. We lost it in an area where one good pass was going to put us in massive trouble and it was a good pass. No chance of cutting it out or catching Watkins from where everything was set up.

Saiss has played 7 games since he came back and we lost 4 of them, he's definitely not been at the same level as before.

I think Boly has been OK. Poor against Leeds when everyone else was and fairly average against Newcastle. Agree thought he was good against Villa.

Saiss has had a really good season but if he isn't here next season I want to see more of Kilman on his natural side.

Boly has done OK considering he hadn't played at all this season until recently, must be some rust there. I'd prefer to stick with Boly, Coady and Kilman as I think that has the best potential longer term and Saiss probably won't be here next season.

Surely time to start ramping up Netos minutes if he's fit enough to do anything near an hour he should definitely start for me when the options otherwise are Hwang and Trincao.

We are fucked on free kicks and corners on Sunday...plus side Neto will be playing though

Oh yeah Neto over Trincao actually. I just hadn't factored him in as we haven't given him many minutes lately

Yep lost the ball with massive spaces between the back 5 and Moutinho and the 4 ahead of the ball.

That’s a big issue for us with the back 5 generally. We had 5 defenders with Moutinho in front marking one player and one pass got him 1v1 with Sa as there was no counter press at all and the spaces were too big. The WBs or CBs need to be filling in those spaces to either win the ball, break up play with a foul or at least prevent the pass.

We need to bolster the midfield as much as we can, just playing a 2 in there will not be enough IMO.

That shouldn't be a problem against Burnley. They are as 442 as they come even without Dyche. If it's Cork and Brownhill in there you just need to stand up to their physicality, but we won't be overmatched numbers wise

The mentality and how we approach this game is far more important than the formation / personnel.

If we press high and look up for it we'll win. If we try to contain Burnley it'll just let them play their natural game.

Controlling the ball and playing a high line is what we need, then it's just a matter of getting our shots on target.
