Carl Ikeme

Good for him. Who are their other keepers?

He's been called up before? Has he actually played a competitive game for them yet?

Good for him after losing the shirt here (at least for now) - will make him want to work all the harder to regain it to impress the selectors

Don't see him playing if Enyeama is healthy but should definitely be on their bench.

Ikeme gets called up for Nigeria for the first time in the best part of a decade while they are hoping to convince Iorfa to declare for them...God I'm cynical!

Iorfa Has to wait and go for England, he has an amazing future ahead of him

Pleased for him. And Iorfa too should he declare for Nigeria. He wont be Englands right back for a while but could be Nigerias. Our loss though with ACN commitments

It's all a long way off but England don't have great options at RB. It's only one year since we were playing Glen Bloody Johnson there in a World Cup with predictable results. Clyne should really have the shirt nailed down out of what we have but Hodgson clearly isn't that convinced. Chambers doesn't play RB for Arsenal, Richards isn't playing RB for Villa, Phil Jones started there last game and he's as much a full back as Matt Doherty is a right winger. Smalling and Stones have started games there which is clearly a terrible idea. Kyle Walker is a really poor defender and Kieran Trippier has to get the Spurs shirt off him before he can really be considered. Carl Jenkinson and Joel Ward are decent but Iorfa has every chance of becoming better than them.

Factually youre spot on but I cant see England picking a championship right back at 20 when Hodgson will persists with the five or six premier league names you have mentioned. In a competition year this season is the season to nail the spot and its a year too early for Iorfa even if we go up. That may lead him nicely to Nigerias squad for ACN as they are already very ibterested and after that the world cup beckons. Could not blame him

I'll use this thread to continue on from the clusterfuck of goalkeeping from Martinez tonight. Whatever the rumour about he has to play because Wenger said so is immaterial, the fact is that Ikeme whether he was dropped because of the Blackburn game or not can find himself very unlucky to be out of the first eleven. Carl has been a mainstay and a damn fine goalkeeper over the last two seasons. He cant be happy with this situation at Wolves and if Martinez continues, I wouldn't blame him wanting out.

Hell, I'd go one further and say Carl was even pretty good during the Solbakken/Saunders year.

To be frank, the introduction of Martinez to the team seemed to me to be wholly unnecessary at best and somewhat destabilizing at worst.

I'm on my jollies at the mo. So not seen the goals, but Ikeme was very unlucky to be dropped, but if we have a better keeper then so be it. Has to be debateable if we do and CI has never cost us 2 goals in a game in 150(?) appearances

I've seen him make mistakes in games that's for sure but ive never seen Ikeme give such a complete poor performance as the one from Martinez last night.
