Back to 3 at the back for me -

Rui
Boly Coady Saiss
Hoever Neves Donk RAN
Traore Silva Neto

We need to settle into solidity and gain some confidence.

Couldn't give a shit about the cup now. PL is WAY more important. Play the u18's for me.

3-5-2 please.

Ruddy

Boly - Coady - Kilman

Hoever - Otasawie - Vitinha - RAN

MGW

Cutrone - Silva

We’ve lost to Albion and MM went. Lost to non league Luton and Stale went...

Any 11 from the 20 in the squad today should be enough though. Derby U18s gave them a game FFS. They were well rehearsed on set pieces though.

Bit disheartened by everything at the moment. Would personally change the whole side and let the likes of Hoever, Otasowie, Kilman & co have a game - but then the same players that performed the way they did today would be back in for the league game and I can’t say I’m over the moon about that either.

No idea what Nuno will pick and he probably doesn’t know right now either.

Can we rest Nuno for this one and give the reigns to Scott Sellers?

Not with a 2 week quarantine period no.

Every team analyst will have looked at us and will know set pieces are the key to scoring against us. That and hitting the ball to the right side against Semedo. We are an easy game plan for any team right now.

Why would you give an average academy coach the reigns?

That seems a very strange thing to do.
I think it’s anyone can do it to let Nuno spend a bit of time with his family.

I’m sure if that was the problem then that’s what we’d do.

Tbf. Someone I spoke to just now who worked under him at Wolves (now full time at a different academy) was glowing in his praise for him. And this person has no reason to pretend he’s good.

No idea whether his qualities suit his new job title but apparently he doesn’t hang about and gets stuff done

It was more that why would we give a man with zero management experience and an average coaching record anywhere near the first team.

Far better to give somebody like Rui Silva the job for a week.

Hopefully they have a meeting to discuss what to do. According to an Athletic piece i read Nuno is THE boss, and no-one makes the team decisions other than him.
Sometimes you need help, but depends on the mindset of the person that needs it.

Oh sorry yeah, it wouldn’t work in any way right now as if he could go home to visit family in the first place, this wouldn’t even be a discussion anyway :D

I listened to a good podcast on this (a Tim Ferris one) type of leadership and how business leaders and coaches need coaches themselves.

The point was not to be better than the person you were coaching but to get a different perspective.

We all do it in our professional lives so why wouldn't professional football coaches.

The upshot was if you didn't have a coach/ mentor you would likely go mad and fail as there was no different point of view.

Ahh the Jordan Peterson line "If you're the brightest person in the room, you're in the wrong room"

Agree on that too. I do think Nuno should share his responsibilities, but it all depends on the mindset of Nuno, and whether he thinks having help makes him weaker. Of course it doesn't, but in his mind it might do. Hopefully it gets sorted quickly internally.
