Chorley v Wolves build-up and match thread

Ruddy
Hoever, Marques, coady, Kilman, Ait nouri
Vitinha, Donk, Otasawie
Cutrone, Corbeneau

it’s a young side with a couple of experienced players in there centrally to keep them organised. We could have Neves and Traore on the bench in case we need them, plus Bueno and Saiss to rest Ait Nouri and Donk where we can.

Fuck chorley after that tweet. Glad i did not buy a Virtual ticket, they can Boing Boing back to obscurity

I quite like the idea of virtual tickets, it’s a good way to give money to community clubs who are struggling for funds at the moment - telling people which charitys / causes are deserving of people’s own money is a bit of a cunt’s trick IMO.

In this case I’ve removed the link I posted to the virtual ticket and replaced it with a link to Wolverhampton food back. Fuck these wankers :)

Any charity that a donor gives to is commendable and their choice as to who receives it.
I get banter between fan groups that’s fine IMO as long as it stays away from abuse.
I said this after Leeds tweet about Karen Carney, a clubs Twitter handle should operate as no more than an information service.
It shouldn’t indulge in stirring up a social media storm.

Hahaha more fool the daft sods who paid the silly £10 virtual ticket in the first place (so many more deserving/more needed options closer to home).

Fuck Chorley hope they go bust.

Since that tweet the Chorley dude on here has dissapeared.

Can't believe Chorley dare to try and have banter with football fans on a social media platform.

Don't they know there is a pandemic on and this should be taken VERY seriously. I'm not impressed.

For me saying that the team will "boing boing" if they win goes a bit beyond banter

Fair play if they win, we'd be gutted but then breaking out a "boing boing" to rub our faces in it, and honestly, it takes the piss for no reason

Define how “banter” works

It doesn't bother me in the slightest tbf, but it does seem an odd promotional tactic from Chorley - they are playing Wolves in their biggest ever game not West Brom. A bit like if Marine did the same thing with Arsenal for example? You'd think they might want to build good relations with the opposition in this scenario (but then maybe they couldn't give a shit about that)

Reality how many Albion fans would really give the £10 for the sake of petty point scoring over local rivals? Probably not as many as people think.
The fact is it’s not like Albion fans wouldn’t have known that virtual tickets were being sold to,so they could easily have hijacked it anyway.
It was all probably meant in harmless good intention.
But as I said earlier in this thread the timing was atrocious and real lack of understanding of how deep some people feel about the BCD.
People wishing the worst for Chorley after this get a grip, it’s a PR error nothing more. I think they realise they’ve made an error of judgement by removing the tweet very quickly.

Banter, noun : the playful and friendly exchange of teasing remarks.
So for it to work both the one communicating and one receiving have to be in agreement. If the one receiving takes offence as a natural reaction it’s no longer banter. The fact remains what might be banter to one person could be offensive to another.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest but it's tone deaf at best.

Reality is it's probably some young kid who's made a mistake so the rage is a bit misplaced.

Really, what is it, libel, assault ?
In the late 80's the Middlesbrough fans had "what's it like to sh#g your kids" in response to the Cleveland child scandal, Leeds fans got the Jimmy Saville song and the Germans had the hilarious Luftwaffe song, stop me when you get to one as odious as 'boing boing'

ps, The Stefan Postma ones were funny though

Pretty much this lesson learned by Chorley admin move on just need to learn they’re handling the official Twitter handle and not a fans page. doesn’t need people wishing the worse for them after this game is done.

I didn't say any of those things, I said I find it goes a bit beyond banter, that's my personal view which will be different to everyone elses. Obviously it isn't as bad as any of those things you quoted and isn't for one minute libel or assault.

For me, this goes beyond banter and into unnecessary taking the piss. It's not the boing boing itself, it's that they would do that if they won - why? No need and absolutely no chance I'll give them any money now.
