Coronavirus

unsurprisingly, I don't think the government have thought that part through (like the rest of the whole idea tbh)
Universities are worried students won't return in january tbh

I think they will - doubt many Universities will offer refunds on accommodation.

Imagine there is a far greater volume of non-university student accommodation these days and would assume those third party providers even less likely to issue any refunds.

Very true. I think the non-University ones in Wolverhampton aren't currently operating, but I could be wrong...

landlords (whether the universities or no) will have the students tied into fixed term contracts with no cancellation clause.
students are being shafted.

Our clown car Government absolutely screwing over Manchester then.

The package they were asking for was less than Chris Grayling paid for ferries that never existed.

How about the Government just give the regions what they need to stop low paid people who are being screwed over by the crisis falling into fucking destitution?

So what if they wanted £90m? It's a drop in the fucking ocean. We spunked more than that on PPE that can't be used that Liz Truss' mate ordered from China.

Conservative new MPs in the traditionally red areas of the North should be rather concerned about their prospects in the next election.

That bent cunt Jenrick (who remember, broke the law to try to save Richard Desmond £45m) offered £22m last night. £8 per head for the 2.8m population of Greater Manchester.

Merseyside and Lancashire both got close to double that and both have a population of 1.5m.

Wankers.

Oh and confirmed now by the leader of Manchester City Council that once more, they asked for the scientific evidence from the Government that shutting hospitality does anything.

No response.

Wouldn't have expected one as they don't really know anyway

21330 new cases announced today and sadly another 241 have passed away.

The rise in the West Mids is pretty imperceptible when you look at the graphs they're putting up. Why are we in Tier 2?

Van Tam continuing the tradition of selecting his data to try to bamboozle the general public into believing the government knows what it is doing

£22m is currently all they’re getting.

The other £38m offered earlier was part of a ‘failed negotiation’.

Link to the slides if anyone wants them.

I continue to be amazed by the low infection rates in london

I can’t even watch Boris on tv anymore, let alone listen to what he says. I get too angry.

I plan on having a shot every time he says "alas". I'll be hammered by 6.08pm.

He's just so awful and they refuse to show any evidence for what they're doing. You're killing people, man.
