Coronavirus

Modhi and Bolsonaro are vile human beings. Right wing fascists who will and are letting their own people die.

There is nothing we can do unless they’re gone.
At my old firm we had a sister company in São Paulo, a direct quote from them was "corruption is not a strong enough word"

Happened quickly too, doesn't seem many weeks ago they were doing ok, suppose thats what happens if you don't get your people vaccinated but do allow unrestricted political rallies, religious events and don't bother with social distancing (I know its difficult over there)

It's what happens when a government prioritises popularity over pragmatism. If those in power don't take it seriously then the population never will. It's what happened here last year (on a far smaller scale, of course), and it's what didn't happen in Oz and NZ. Because of circumstances, India is at a disadvantage to start with, but it should never have been allowed to reach this stage. They should have at least reduced vaccine exports to countries in a better position, and those countries should have seen this coming and offered to help by extending their own rollouts. It feels nice to be in the box seats now, but if the Indian mutations end up escaping the vaccine and swamping the rest of the world, and we're back in lockdown by autumn, the West will be at least partly to blame.

44 year olds can now book online

Yep its picked up pace again over the last week.....hoping my kids can get done before the end of May

Down to 42 year olds now.

Looks like I'll be early next month then.
chance you'll be able to book yourself in next week I'd have thought, the ways things are going.
Local NHS srvices are updating the booking system, so it is worth checking on the booking site to see if your local services are ahead of the game.

I'm 40 and have been able to book mine this afternoon (for tomorrow) after a text from my GP surgery.

Seems a lot in this demographic. Also waiting for it to tick down this week.

spoke with my brother this evening. He's 43, and managed to book in for thursday.

Both of us had the jab as planned. Mrs was fine with no side effects. Made me very tired but that was the worst of it. Was expecting much worse.

Now that 42 year old Matt Hancock has had his jab and photo opportunity I guess the age range will start to go down fairly soon.

Definitely feeling lethargic and run down today. Thankfully no headache though.

I had the shivers and an all over body ache by around 11pm last night. Still feeling a bit achy now (particularly in my arm) but my headache shifted with painkillers. I did wake up in the early hours feeling like I'd been drinking heavily, really parched and dehydrated.

Had a call from the docs earlier to say there's a space tomorrow in Codsall to get my 2nd jab. By the time the receptionist booked the appointment, someone else had taken it. 7th May it is.

Jab number two tomorrow. No symptoms after the first one, so I'm expecting the worst this time.
