Coronavirus

The Nightingale Covid surge Hub at St. George’s in Tooting that went live as recently as Monday 10th, is being “Stood down”.

Got to be reading that as a very encouraging sign at least.

I don't think they would be actually, they're all terrible in their own way but they don't lie every single day and they aren't incredibly lazy. We also don't have a system where the Prime Minister can do anything they want, Johnson is testament to that with an 80 seat majority and a hand picked Cabinet who never oppose him on anything.

We basically have someone now where the only choice with every decision on every passing day is that he's stupid, dishonest, plain couldn't be bothered or corrupt. Pretty much anyone would be better. Maybe Rees-Mogg, Bridgen or Francois wouldn't be but that's the kind of level you'd need to sink to if you were actively trying for worse, and they're the level that would never stand a chance anyway.

so, do you think he will stay and maybe be re-elected?
No chance, even an electorate as seemingly daft as ours can't elect him twice? Can they?

Regardless, with people like Davies sticking the knife in, he's done now, just a matter of when, not if. Probably after the local elections though so they can stick that on him rather than the new guy/gal.

I'm certain Patel would be worse, one of the positives in a way with Boris, was that because he was idle things would slip and he wouldn't do as much incompetent/bad shit as he could have done if he was more motivated.

Patel would be actively awful and nasty, and relentless with it, that scares the shit out of me.

Yeah, but again, she stands no realistic chance at all.

No idea what all this is doing on this thread :D

Hospital numbers and ventilation numbers are going in the right direction which is a good thing.

From a personal perspective COVID has absolutely kicked my ass, day 5 after getting infected and only now starting to feel slightly better.

Father in law popped around on Sunday, much to my displeasure.

Apparently despite everything he still ‘likes the bloke’ because he ‘gets things done’….apparently. Thick as shit, and a liar too, because he can’t say to me ‘I like him because he’s a racist prick just like me’ now can he?

Voted Brexit too you’ll be amazed to learn.

What is it with these people man?

Edit: probably the wrong thread to post that but but I was following the conversation and thought I was in the other thread. Sorry.

I do worry about his replacement, but as DW says surely at least Patel, Sunak or Truss would at least be competent even if they're all horrible people........OK maybe not Truss

Back OT, is the government still going ahead with compulsory vaxing for health staff?

He was asked a number of time in PMQ's but refused to budge from what I saw

Just been stripped of my vaccination status, despite having J&J and a Moderna booster, Germany has now decided to remove anyone with a J&J vaccine from the officially vaccinated. Angry doesn't even begin to describe how I feel :mad::mad::mad:
