Coronavirus

I'm travelling quite a bit at the moment so been looking into what type of mask I need to wear - I found this quite interesting:

That's a good article. Never seen it before. but it had me rushing for ours (mine not 'hours'!) and we have a box of FFP2 which was reassuring.
There was a large meeting in Washington recently, all waiters and staff wore masks but the assembled group didn't. it turned out there were 67 positives recorded from that night. It's so insidious and once the symptoms have cleared you really might not be out of it...

After two years of avoiding it, I've finally succumbed and just tested positive.

Even after the vaccine this thing hits like a truck. Can't imagine what it would have felt like had I not been treated.

What symptoms have you got Alan?

Mild shortness of breath, a little tightness in the chest, and then basically the worst flu of my life on top of that. The chest symptoms only really started manifesting last night which was my first clue that this wasn't just good old influenza.

Completely drained, I've barely been out of bed since Sunday.

I'm afraid I find it still quite scary. I don't wear a mask in the open or in my car but as soon as I go into a shop, it's on.
Any idea where you caught it?

Not the foggiest, unfortunately.

Weird how some people get it worse than others and with different symptoms. My sister's just had it, she really didn't feel bad at all, said it was just like having a cold with a bit of a cough. Suppose she's one of the lucky ones. My brother in law, not so lucky. Hope you soon start to feel better Alan.

very true PPB. Mrs jelly had it and was very rough for over a week. Yet I had it a week after her, and was pretty much untouched in comparison.
Friends of mine since have had it and it has floored them for 2 weeks, and they have been testing positive for 12-14 days. I wonder if thats related to the type of strain?

There's no accounting for how it transmits.
Neighbour of mine is a teacher and he had it for the 2nd time even though he'd been double jabbed,
Now I know it really isn't the thing to do but his wife and 2 kids (7 and 4) shared the same big king sized bed and non of them caught it.
He's had it a 3rd time since then.
"Spidery, cobweb feeling in my throat and lungs..."

daily death figures from the 13th april are 651, an increase of over 400 on a week ago. Whats that about?
