Coronavirus

Surely most places have strict limits on numbers anyway, quite a few insist on a booking, you can't just rock up.

The use of "piling in" is done for one reason only. All part of the press doing their duty to our Governement and trying to keep us in check. The step up in negative stories this week has been very noticable indeed.

On Monday for example, Sky went with "cases fly up on day restrictions are lifted". Now on the face of it, yes cases had risen week for week by around 800. However, they completley ignored the note on the figures that day that said they included cases that had not been added to the totals from weeks ago, so it was artificially high

Dunno. I’ve seen (and been) to a few where it’s non booking / first come first served and not had any issues. Now at 6pm on a Tuesday night it was easier enough to get a table. Saturday afternoon in the sunshine may be a different matter.

Went to the pub with 3 mates last night, first time since lockdown easing, was fine, we just turned up and found a table, staff came and got our details and orders. Plenty of space even when most of the tables were full, was a pleasant experience...one slight black mark was none of the staff were wearing masks this time, although tbf they all kept their distance while serving.
it sounded quite a bit more 'lively' at the pub next door though, lots of female screeching, shouting and what sounded like chanting

My limit has been increased on one of my cards 😯
Me too! All quite strange. Maybe it's other companies acting in response to Barclaycard (but I don't have a Barclaycard, which I have no doubt they could find out if they wanted to).

Oh well, whatever, the balance is absolutely nowhere near the limit and never has been, but good to know it's not all going to be hacked away overnight, quite the opposite.

ION went to a pub last night pre-match (obviously was supposed to be post-match...but we can't have nice things, can we), just great to be in a group of more than two people for the first time in well over a year (not that Mrs DW and I don't get on or run out of things to talk about!) and see other people doing the same. Still won't be going crazy with it until we're back to indoors opening as with the best will in the world, it's still not ideal sitting outside at this time of year and not every venue is set up that well for it, but it's a start.

It's a Monday so figures will always be lower and this will be different to the PHE figures released later but NHS England report just 1 covid death today. For comparison they reported 11 last Monday.

Just back from mine. AZ. All straightforward. Genuinely didn't feel any needle at all!
Now gotta milk this for the next 24-48 hours...
Mrs DW has her first jab tomorrow so I've got to go round and look after her once the deed is done. I've warned her, milk it and I'll bloody well know, you're not that good an actress...

everything I have anecdotally seen suggests the day after you might be a bit lethargic. If that's the worst that happens, I can cope!
these people more afraid of the medicine than the disease are odd. 1 in 250,000 chances of a blood clot issue. They're decent odds!

So the UK figure for deaths is 4.

Fair to say the schools reopening and return to outdoor meet ups have not seen any increases in cases/deaths (haven't seen the hospital numbers today but they were falling steadily) About 2 weeks from now we will know if people "piling" into pubs and shopping is making any difference. If not then in 4 weeks things will feel a lot better

Had my first dose on Saturday morning. Felt fine after it and you can't even feel the jab itself. Went on a big walk in the afternoon (was probably stupid but hey ho) and noticed I was getting knackered very easily. Saturday evening started feeling really tired and freezing, like the flu shivers a bit but weirdly without the temperature.

Woke up Sunday morning at 5 and was freezing cold and felt a bit like that and shitty all day (sods law had booked the barbers weeks before the vaccine so had to go). Eased off a bit later in the day and feel much better today if a bit knackered.

Anecdotally it seems to affect younger (relatively ;) ) people more often like this. Just neck paracetamol and ibuprofen and it takes the edge off and only seems to last 24 hrs or so after it kicks in.

That sounds almost exactly how I was affected. Got some aches and pains around my shoulders/neck too, but all fine about 24 hours later.
