Cracking Story

I've not had a decent haircut over here since we moved, so much so I've just grown it out and pull it up nowadays
I have a picture somewhere on my phone straight after a haircut
Guy I worked with at the time asked if I went to the Stevie Wonder school of hair cuts
I wore a hat for quite a while after that...

I’m sorry but my sympathy batteries appear to have gone rather flat. 18 years without a bill and you couldn’t find out who the supplier was? Ask the previous owner, or the landlord, or phone the suppliers one by one and ask if they supply the property. They have scammed it for 18 years. Clearly to pay for haircuts.

Surely they could have just signed up with a new supplier and put the ball in their court. Tried to get away with it and have been stung. Chancers.

If it was a new build house they have a bit of sympathy.

Took us nearly 3 years to sort out our electric/gas supply. At one point we were paying one company and they weren't even supplying us. Issue came from the houses having plot numbers and then when sold the house number was different (ours was plot 21 but house number 24).
That messed up so many systems. Electric and Gas supply and even telephone. Our neighbours moved after 10 years and they asked BT to turn off their landline and it took ours out!!

A different matter, but a month after moving in no mortgage payment had been taken by the Halifax. So we contacted them as did not want defaults etc and our account had been marked as fully paid!! For a brief period I was mortgage free.

Just to call more bullshit on the story, people in the replies are saying that couple were in a story a couple of months before for something to do with their cat. Could just be fake news. Maybe they thought their cat was paying the gas bill. Fuck knows.

Or they spent 5 days looking for their lost cat then realised it had been on top of his head the whole time

regardless of the circs, they have had access to and use of a gas supply for the entire period. They have used it knowing it needs to be paid for, so have a certain responsibility to either find out who the supplier is, or put some money aside for when the eventual bill arrives.

That's not how it works.

You are not responsible for maintaining gas records, that's the suppliers responsibility and they deal with Transco which is the national register of gas suppliers.

Like all things they are prone to fuck ups. I had no supplier at a business premises for 6 months as Transco said we didn't exist. Even did a site visit and still couldn't get them to change their minds.

Got Eon on the case and they sorted it but it took months.

Responsibility is probably the wrong word, but it's in their interests to find out who the supplier is so they don't get stung for a big bill when everything catches up....

I'd equate it to spending money the bank accidentally puts in your account, they're going to want it back eventually.

That's the kind of story that does tempt me to spend £5.99 a month...
