Crystal Palace (H) FA Cup build up/match day thread

yeah, agree with that completely. Got to give Neto a bit of a breather. After Everton and West Brom we then also have the 'winter break' right? So gives him some good rest time then too to perform well for the second half of the season, which we really need to do.

If Boly is fit, play him. If Donck and Marcal are fit, give them thirty minutes with the intention of them being ready for the Everton game.

Short in attacking options if Podence isn't fit (seems unlikely) and the need to rest Pedro. Ideally need a signing or two in by then but we don't always seem the most 'proactive', and prefer to wait for the best value etc which we could really do without this month. Just get on with it.

Forgot about Shabani! Be nice to see him, even off the bench

He's probably better off of the right tbf. Which is why it might be more likely Shabani plays on that side if we were to do anything like that (though Shabani doesn't seem to be rated by Nuno if the bench is anything to go by).

In all likelihood Neto still starts. I'd just like him to have a rest!

Nuno can make that call about any of the players of course, he'll have more info than you or I.

But he does like a small squad, so this is always going to happen. If we harbour ambitions of being a force then we probably need to handle playing in two competitions, let alone four! I thoroughly disagree that the FA Cup is pointless

Not sure if Corbeanau is any kind of option as a forward replacement?
I think the FA Cup will be binned fairly soon - more and more games are going to postponed this is the obvious choice to go.

Yes its on Nuno for his small squad, I put my team earlier int he thread - but absolutely I'd be starting Corbeanu.

There isn't a Winter Break unless we lose. The 'free' week is 4th round weekend

Ah okay - definitely rest Pedro then!

Mild rotation with players who are clearly good enough - Hoever and Otasowie. I have no idea how many of the injured Marcal, Boly, Donck, Podence will be fit so pointless trying to suggest a team.

For me Neto is the main one to need a rest. He's been great but he runs his bollocks off every game, plus there's been a lot of pressure on him to perform lately, so could probably do with a break mentally too

Is this game being televised anywhere? Couldn't find it on my Sky guide.

Lukey barely gets a kick in the U23's, so that would be some step up for him right now.

I think Donk will play in this one as he has been training all week.

We're absolutely desperate for a CAM and MGW would..... hang on :D

MGW and Cutrone wouldn't affect my starting 11 for Palace as I'd plan to start both against Everton and Albion

Paraphrasing Nuno, Marcal and Boly are out, Donck looks available

I'd actually make it more like:

Sondergaard
Hoever - Marques - Kilman
Matheson - Otasowie - Neves - RAN
MGW - Vitinha
Cutrone

As five substitutes can be made in the FA Cup, is there a chance we'll see some of those close to recovering from injury getting some minutes in addition to the odd returning loanee?

Cheers, I have the BT Sport app through my phone contract so I should get that ok.

In all our other Premier league campaigns we have either been battling against relegation or battling for a European place so playing a weakened team in the FA cup has made sense (Nuno hasn't done this though), this season when neither is an issue i see no reason why we shouldn't take the cup seriously.

I expect Nuno to go as strong as possible.
