Ever changing face of Wolves

You have to be a certain age but you may remember another Wolvo character. "Jimmy the Pill" anyone? A tall elegantly dressed black guy with a Doctor Who hat and scarf, used to cruise the town center in the sixties, always willing to meet your chemical based recreational needs. Long gone.

He’s still very much alive. Just googled him and found his Facebook page! David William Cox.

Was talking about him the other day when we were in town and I got told by three people he was dead. I believed it as I hadn’t seen him in years. Oh well, there you go!

Ezra died a few years ago too

Ezra. Bloody hell I remember now!

Around the same time, when "The Posada" was a genuine spit and sawdust joint the landlord was a serious hard case [well he had to be] and an ex Wolves player from the 40s, early 50s. Can't remember his name either!

What happened to the kid (mid-late 70's) who used tear round the Mander centre? usually had a big radio on his shoulder, singing along as he went. Tried to engage him conversation a couple of times but he always seemed to have his own shit to do.

That's the cowboy mentioned above isn't it?

I'm more than likely wrong tbh,I thought they were the same person

The cowboy became a Christian preacher about 15 years ago.

I guess this is where Pete, Steve, Sam, etc will e staying on match nights from later this year!

It has to be better than the bloody Britannia over the road. Although I do have fond memories of a couple of dirty weekends there back [way back!] in the day.

Will certainly try that out (depending on pricing) - tend to have the Britannia at the bottom of the list of the ones I will use unless the deal is too good to ignore.

Most recent best deals have been at Premier Inn though you need to look at that off their own site as they don't sell through the other booking ones.

If you do have to pay Tim Martin £50 or whatever for a room, make sure you make at least £50 worth of damage before you leave. The fucking twat.

The pub will still be awful, if they aren't closing it at any stage then it won't be having any significant redevelopment and it needs basically everything ripping out.

Using the hotel bit won't mean you need to go in the pub - and I could do with some new towels anyway :)

When I used to use the Brittania it was called the Victoria [I think], Weatherspoons was still the co-op and the Premier Inn didn't exist. Talk about a changing face.

Perfect thing to put on my sun lounger early in the morning in Menorca.
