He cost £35m so it's not unfair for those outside of our club and supporters to question why this guy has been touted as a potential superstar. He is after all the 7th most expensive teenage signing ever.

Yesterday they were scratching their heads as to why that was.
Most goals & assists per 90 minutes at the club
Second most goals per 90 minutes at the club

If it comes down to opportunity cost I'd take CBs and CMs over a third striker.

A wide player who can play central would be my third priority
That seems odd to me. We really don't need another midfielder, we have 4 for two spots. One of them is world class, one just about to tip over the edge of his magnificent career, one a superstar in the making and one does a job for Belgium.

We have no left winger and one centre forward. We need three players (not including making RAN and Vitinha permanent) CB, LW, CF.

Yeah you're right, i just think Neville and Redknapp weren't really speaking sense, Neville said Sillva wasn't trying! That isn't something you could accuse Silva of, is it?

And Redknapp saying look at what Kane is doing compared to Silva, regardless of the transfer fee, that is NOT comparing apples with apples.

What a load of old bollocks.

We've scored 35 goals in 36 games and only 4 teams have scored less than us, 3 of them relegated. So politely shove your stats up your arse.

Podence is a left winger. That's where he played for Olympiakos and where we were playing him until Neto took his spot.

If anything we need another right sided player in case Traore is off or is in one of his shite spells.

He looked knackered when Neville said that and I thought Nuno hung Silva out to dry yesterday by playing wide men wide and Vitinha in some hybrid second striker role. He then compounded it by playing on the counter with more passive nonsense in possession unless Adama had it. The two lads had no chance.

You're right comparing him with Kane wasn't really fair as Kane is probably one of the 3 best strikers in the world.

Be as insulting as you like, it doesn't change reality.

Neto has been playing wide right (where Adama should be an impact sub) which leaves us Podence who has been appalling and injured. I would say that's exactly the spot we need to get in.

As for the team, I'd still like to see one of Marques or Lonwijk given a go before the season's out, just to see how they look alongside Coady. Maybe best saved for Man Utd's reserve team after this one though.

Rui

Semedo - Coady - Boly - RAN

Vitinha - Neves

Corbeanu - MGW - Traore

Silva

Or if we want more bodies up around Silva then we could play this:

Rui

Dendoncker - Coady - Boly

Semedo - Vitinha - Neves - RAN

MGW

Traore - Silva

Neto was only moved to the right because Traore was bobbins and we needed to try something different. Neto is much more comfortable on the left where he came into the team.

We have Podence and Neto on the left, Traore and ? on the right.

You cannot bank on Raul yet, whatever the positive noises are about his recovery. Fabio Silva has shown he is a decent player but is not a lone striker so is not Raul back up. Mir is tall , strong and has 13 goals in the top Spanish division this season and he is ours. He is more of a Raul back up, it appears , than Silva ever is going to be. He could also work in a front two with Silva if Raul is still injured. Oh, and he is ours which also saves money. He deserves a chance while Raul recuperates. We will not be bringing 5 or 6 in I presume, so there are creative needs that need addressing and a centre back. We also have no Neto or Jonny for a while so that's 3 first team positions that need holding for the start of next season. RAN is fine for Jonny but Podence is also a crock and that is your Neto back up. I would not be at all surprised if Guedes came here to compete with Neto. I think that would be fine. So, then we need a proper Centre half to partner Coady or Boly. Big strong and with a bit of pace. That is the big money fee we need to pay this summer. And finally, some competition for Patricio. Ruddy is not seen as anything but back up and trusted only in emergencies. Gazzaniger or even Sergio Romero would be worth an enquiry. Both are upgrades on Ruddy and Gazzaniger has top potential , but a sensible enough price tag you would hope. Heaton may also be available but he is 35 (Romero is 34). If we are to play with a back four ( and that appears likely) then we need a keeper who is more commanding of his 6 yard area than Rui for that ball in behind in the long term , or Rui needs to become more commanding . Funds may not allow such a luxury buy , but it should not stop us asking the question or looking. If Patricio performed to his ability we would be fine , but he has been below par too often. I have not seen enough of Sondergaard to say if he is capable but from the posts on here it appears not yet.
We have given a number of soft goals away this season yet statistically, defensively we have been ok , by and large. Our creativity and finishing are areas for big improvement. We just don't worry teams any more unless Adama has a blinder.

Marques and lonwijk have both had injuries recently sadly!

We definitely need another wide man tbf, two if Adama goes.

Centre back, centre mid and a wide/forward would be my three key positions to sign - I’ve said this many times though :D

Lewis Richards might get a go, the other CBs are injured.

Richards has really impressed me in the u23s this season.

Paulo Gazzaniga, great potential. 30 in January and has played 25 games in four years. I'll pass, ta.

Rafa Mir is not good enough, sorry.

Ok, how do you explain him having the highest goal and assist contributions per 90 at the club?
Tallest dwarf?

He's done pretty well in terms of output given his age and experience, but it's far from anything to shout about in the grand scheme of things.
