Not sure if it was on here or the BBC 606 forum but wasn't there a user called something along the lines of "Who shot Kevin Francis" in reference to how he fell for the penalty.

I used to hate Devlin as a player. Wasn't he sent off in an altercation with Mo Camara against Sheffield United in the so called choke season?

Edit: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2001/dec/31/match.sport15

The pessimism at the end of that season.....

As for Warnock, complaining about refs and then later in the season deliberately cheats to have a game abandoned. Tosser.

Devlin put a hole in Camara's thigh while playing for Blues that season. Shocking challenge, the most nailed on of nailed on reds, even in 2002. Ref didn't even give us a free kick.

Then he equalised about two minutes later.

Not bitter about it still, honest. Rat faced bastard.

To emphasise how long ago that game was Jamie Smith looked about 14 - he was born in 1974, making him 46/47, same as Nuno!

Was also the same game when bits of the roof started flying off their tinpot ground. Amazing it took nearly 20 years for bits of it to be condemned. An absolute hovel.

That 1-0 win was when they started timewasting after three minutes. A truly disgraceful team he built there.

I saw his Bury team do that as well, Bully's last ever goal for us as it turned out.

I'll go a step further. I have seen a Dean Saunders team play good football.

Second half, Leicester away. We played really well. Created loads. SEB missed a couple of chances you'd expect him to score. O'Hara pulling the strings. It looked like we were getting somewhere. We lost but you thought "carry on like that and we'll be fine".

Then obviously he never played that team, system or style ever again.
That the match where O'Hara and Doumbia both inexplicably looked quite good? Goal was from Sako IIRC.

You can never overestimate how genuinely rubbish West Midlands football (outwith Villa) was in the 90s.

As ever Walsall had to take it a step too far.

Charlie Ntamark (Note, you do not pronounce his name as that presenter does!) is an old friend of mine. We used to work together. When we'd go out in Walsall, people would be very happy to approach him and remind him of that moment.

Swapped some messages with him when they repeated Cameroon in the world cup on the tv last summer.

Charlie is an exceptionally good lad. Invited me to meet a lot of retired wolves players when they'd turn out at these charity allstars matches they do. It's funny listening to retired players talking "shop". It's mainly injuries...

Jordao the same (on Rae) when we played Albion that year too.

Not sure where to stick this but as there are a couple of ex-wolfs mentioned I thought I'd put it here. Interesting read and shows that the right attitude/advice along with the talent can be the difference between having a career in the game or not.

We all know Proudlock's issue was attitude. He had the ability to be a Championship striker for a decade or so from where he started.

Murray is just such a shame, there's not much that could be done there (leave your nonsense conspiracy theories at home). He wouldn't have played for Wolves beyond 2004 regardless had he stayed fit.
