Fifa 19 Thread - yay, a card game on the telly!

So much hype around the card. Won't be surprised if it costs shit loads. If it's RW I'm thinking the rather cheap Doc IF card might go up a bit as people might link that way.

Wonder if he will be happy with his physical on Wednesday?

Moved to PES this year - the gameplay is on an absolutely different level to FIFA.

It's taken a few days to get everything updated with kits, logos etc, but it's a wonderful game to play.

I've never liked FIFA. Too slow and rigid in the player movements.

PE6 was the daddy of football games. Really smooth and extremely playable.

Fair play to Konami. It takes some doing but they've managed it, they've turned the best football game I've ever played into the quite possibly the worst game I've ever played. Tremendous work. Unplayable dogshit.

Well that turned sour quickly then.

I've barely played fifa but I have been reading silvers on the app. Up to 750k atm

The latest Fifa is absolutely horrific. I'm SO disappointed. I've probably played it less than 10 x times and am considering binning it off completely. Defending is awkward. Players are slow and unresponsive. When playing career mode, a simple 1-2 from the computer controlled side generally unlocks your defence 90% of the time resulting in a goal.

It's absolutely shit and I am so annoyed.

Nando - was considering trading it in for PES but your comments are putting me off. What is wrong with PES?

I don't think I've ever got quite so angry at a game as the current FIFA gets me. The squad battles is so frustrating and annoying that I managed to break a controller the other week. Getting beat by a team of bronzes with 35 chemistry one minute (whose central midfielder with 39 shooting scores from 25 yards with a first time shot) then hammering a slightly better team of bronzes on exactly the same level 8-0. There's absolutely no consistency whatsoever. You play a game on a higher level and your players simply regress to chumps, rather than the opposition being actually any tougher to play against.

squad battles AI is real hit or miss. I find the first round of teams after the reset are always harder than they appear.

also when the difficulty is high enough AI teams are basically full stats across the board, so rating doesn't really matter. But it's definitely frustrating when you play a team of 10 bronze keepers with Aguero in goal (a literal team I faced once) and they play like CL winners.

World Class is a piece off piss, not tried any higher, only doing it for a "free" Icon

I dislike online far more than offline. Every team seems to play "drop back", zero possession, and counters with sweaty pace, it ruins all fun

Must be what City feel like when they come up against us

Sorry Jinks, saw this and forgot to respond.

Konami are proper weirdos, they've patched it again and it's back to being an enjoyable experience.

There are some big flaws in it still, number one being physical contact between players resulting in jokeshop free kicks, but it's good fun to play once more and you can play some gorgeous footy when you're set up right.

Theyve fixed career mode after 34 games Derby have 2 Premier league points

wasn't sure where to post thjis yesterday should've dropped in here:

was having drinks with some classmates today,

me: so who was it you met that played fifa or something?
guy: my cousin, he plays professionally
me: oh cool, does he play for anyone I'd know?
guy: uhhm, wolf?
me: ... wolves??
guy: yeah it's some english club. *googles logo* these guys, you know them?
me: yeah you could say I know them.

small world. :icon_lol:

I'm finally playing online and realising why I hadn't bothered the last 10 years. Getting my ass handed to me by high pressure and people bringing on Sterling and Griezeman after 30 seconds.

Enjoying this year's FIFA so much more than last year's. Start with one of these two.

Probably the last time I'll post in here as nobody gives a shit any more but these two teams are just fucking mental.

Mental teams those, Boo. Bought EA Access and just started playing on Xbox but I just cant get on with it. Not won a match yet and getting smashed. Seems you can't do well unless you know all the skills and my arthritic fingers have got no fucking chance.

It takes a while to get into it to be honest, when I started playing again last year I didn't win an online game in about two months. I can hold my own now but I'm still not brilliant. You don't need to skill to win, just learn when to hold the ball and learn where your runners will be. I tend to play it back a lot of the time if you're crowded out as it can draw them out and open up spaces, through balls work very well this year. And finesse shots are the meta this year as well, low drivens get saved or go wide. When you're defending use jockey as much as possible and don't keep pressing tackle, you'll win the ball back more if you do that and learn to only tackle at the right moment.

You named a team after me! I'm touched. :icon_lol:
