Mout was in a photo I saw yesterday, not sure when it was taken though.

For Antonio read Mitrovich if we play the same 2 in CD.

Not really as Antonio can run, whereas Mitrovic rivals Willian Joke for mobility.

He could bully us, it's happened before, but if we're worrying about him then there are deep problems to solve.

Seems to, finally, be in a bit of form.

Didn't look particularly in form against Villa. Missed a hatful, did get one when Mings played him clean through and he could scarcely miss.

If there’s a 50 yard gap between the CM and CBs (who do not want to be ran at) in any system we will concede goals. If there’s 6 players around one and none of them make a tackle we will concede goals. If your GK let’s in the majority of on target shots we will concede goals.

Should be relatively easy to solve and no better time than the next two games being against the two worst attacks in the league and two of the worst teams.

I think he had already mentioned Moutinho was more likely to be involved after the West Ham game?

Whilst I'd like us to play 4 at the back as Nuno wants, it has to be pragmatic for us to revert to 5 at the back for this game, as we'll be without Boly.

If we didn't last game I don't think we will this.

There's no reason he can't play Donk-Coady-Saiss if he really wants to against Fulham. He shouldn't be afraid of playing Vitinha alongside Neves.

A good reason not to would be that he remembers Donk's last run of games at CB where he was a car crash.

Moutiniho is out tonight, according to Sky sports. And Fulham have no new injury concerns. With Boly out, i need some inspiration. Surely the defence wont be that bad again. Just watched Neto score against them in October, more again tonight please.

I think it’ll be a back 5 tonight with Donk in there. Hopefully Vitinha plays if Moutinho is out and I reckon Jose still starts up front. Not particularly looking forward to this, just want 3 points no matter how they come so we can pretty much forget this season.

Boly played in the earlier season game where we lost by 4 goals instead of 1.

Unless Nuno has sorted out some way we can play 5 at the back and still retain some kind of attacking threat I don't want to see it.

Yeah we lost 3-2 on Monday...we probably would have lost 1-0 with a 5 at the back and we would have been bored to tears

Three points will be most welcome, and then i will have a good weekend, i would take a draw at the moment. Will Donks goal against West Ham get his confidence back ?

It's been 6 games since we last won a game of football, so I can *sort* of understand why Nuno may go cautious (we all know what he's like), but for me, rather than worrying about them, I think we should start on the front foot and attack them. They have conceded the same number of goals as us this season (41) but we've scored more than them, and we all know our own issues with scoring in the first half and being overly defensive for a large chunk of the season. So if we've still managed to score more than them in that time, surely that tells you that we're best served attacking them and actually attempting to score goals and win the game, rather than attempting to keep it 0-0 for as long as possible, as their defence might not be all that?

I would go 4 at the back again (looking at the players available) and just defend situations better. Be smarter - take a foul or card earlier if things are opening up. Just basically manage the game better defensively and we'll create chances going forward with the players we have.

Patricio
Semedo - Coady - Saiss - RAN
Neves - Donk
Neto - Podence - Traore
Jose

It was 5 at the back against West Ham away, we just tried and failed to play higher up the pitch with it

My mistake. Even so, shows we can still play badly and lose heavily even with Willy and playing 5 at the back, so it's hardly the cure-all for defensive ills. As others have pointed out, mentality and individual errors come into play too.

Just not a fan of throwing our hands up and retreating into our shell when we have good players out. If we believe Nuno is a top manager then it's times like these he proves it, not when he has a full compliment and everything is rosy

4 at the back will be fine tonight, if we get some of the fundamentals right like not having 8 of the 10 outfield players in the oppositions half and acres of space behind them when we lose the ball. The centre halves aren't ideal as they are both slow, but we have what we have
