General Wolves News

Other than referring to himself in the third person and making shit up, it's the interesting next comment about club strategy to put young players in to increase sales value.

Two things about that

1) Who the fuck is picking the team?
2) Who are these young players?

Christ, it's that's a very worrying quote.

Or it's Marcal thinking that there were reasons beyond his ability for why RAN was picked over him, else why weren't Chiquinho, Cundle, Fabio and Toti playing.

I don't think it's worrying because I don't think it makes any sense. Our form in the middle of the season was pretty good. And I can't really remember a wholesale policy of playing youngsters during in that time, let alone to sell them.

The latter, I can't think of any examples where we've put young players in for the sake of it.

I do wonder if marcal is alone in thinking this, or it is a reflection of wider discontent in the squad, regardless of how justified it is.

We do quite the opposite. Could have given a few a run out in the cup against Norwich, we didn't. All of Cundle, Toti, Chiquinho and Campbell have had a brief spell in the team/coming on as sub then randomly completely disappeared for a while afterwards. We brought Hwang on against City when the game was obviously gone instead of Fabio. We have a 20 year old who the manager publicly slated and he hasn't played a single minute since. We actually dropped RAN out of nowhere for guess who...Marçal...not long ago and it lasted a fair few games too. Other players in the U23s have got nowhere near the matchday squad which they would if we were deliberately over-promoting youth.

Marçal is talking shit and he is shit, assuming he doesn't play on Sunday (I put nothing past Tombola Lage) then I'm delighted I'll never have to watch him be a black hole of possession ever again.

I don't give a fuck about Marcal or his opinions. Was a short term, cheap squad player and was fine for that, now he can clear off into semi retirement. RAN was playing OK recently and got dropped for Marcal for no good reason I can see. He's just having a whinge cos he's past it.

I think RAN getting dropped effected him too, hasn't been the same since.

For those of you that have no idea what everyone is on about above.

Seems clear to me what Marcal is referring to. He’s saying we’d have qualified for Europe until Jeff Shi and Scott Sellars told Bruno he had to bring Hoever off the bench against Liverpool. After that, we were fucked.

I think he's talking complete bollocks and it refers to him not always playing. As for the link to the Liverpool game, Hoever came on as sub for AIt Nouri so I doubt that he was referring to that incident.

Let me point you in the direction of my signature.

Interesting him referencing bringing on young players just to sell them. Is that official club policy now? and it suggests it is something the players discuss among themselves.

It pretty much is club policy. That was our line with Jota. It was important to show prospective signings that yes, we will let you go if you develop here and a bigger club comes in with a good offer. That way they'll sign for us in the first place.

Of course I do not agree with that mindset or approach.

Almost every club does it (bar the elite), but there is a world of difference between doing it and making it club policy.

The hubris of thinking you scout/have better connections than anyone else I'm afraid

I am convinced that Lage would have been told to play him over someone like say, Chiquinho.

And it's why he is brought on when 5-1 down against City rather than Fabio.

It's also another reason why i can't see us selling Raul.
