General Wolves News

Jonny Williams is a cracking footballer but we don't really have room for him now.

Kenny Jackett at the Walsall vs Palace game this evening scouting players, the blokes relentless.

I wouldn't expect any less from a decent manager. Paul Ince and the like don't bother but KJ is just a better man.

Steve Morgan as well - I'm sure there'll be a nice orderly queue of volunteers to help them......

125 years at Molineux celebrated this Saturday (actual date of first game 7th September 1889)

Special programme to be issued

Very cool.

Actually quite fancy going to that exhibition at the museum...

Copied from the BBC Sportsday page.

It is 20 years to the day since the death of Billy Wright, the first player to reach 100 England caps and one of our all-time greats.
Wright, who played for Wolves from 1941 until his retirement in 1959, captained England 90 times, a record he shares with Bobby Moore.
There's a nice tribute on the FA's website, which tells how Wright began as an inside-forward before becoming established as a hard-tackling and inspirational centre-half.
Wright went on to manage Arsenal for four years and later worked in the media. he died in 1994, aged 70.

20 years. I remember we played Sunderland away? The day that knob Lee Howey broke Geoff Thomas.

Edit: No. Different game. We did play Sunderland, 1-1, Venus scored - Thomas was the year before (2-0).

I met Billy several times, the last time was in Wolves Social Club with Gary Newbon, having a drink prior to a match.
He was an old schoolfriend of my mothers.
That 20 years has shot past.

Respect Billy.

Lee Evans scored a last minute equaliser vs Lithuania U21. Bradley Reid gets 60 mins on his debut.

Cheers for the info - have booked my Christmas present with the Brentford match on 28th Dec. Not done others as do not expect sell outs so shouldn't have a problem getting a seat somewhere.

Pity its only for home games as want to get to the Bournmouth away one in March, but should have a chance as its a long way south (though not for me) & a Tuesday evening (plus I have free transport to that from a friend who is a Bournmouth S/T holder)

hope to book a ticket for Bolton game later today. look forward to seeing some of you guys in Moon or Litten beforehand
