I'm almost not inclined to blame the squad size- it surely doesn't help, but if you made a list of the most important players at the club over the past few seasons, they've all either spent an extended period of time out, or have been sold (Neves and Coady are maybe the exceptions). That would fuck over any team on the planet, and we've had absolutely rancid luck this season in that regard.

Much like half of our players, this squad is going to need major surgery over the summer.

Im just glad we have 38 points, otherwise this season would have been a catostrophic disaster. Ive never in all my years supporting Wolves known a catalogue of injuries like this.

Still, is it worth keeping him? I suppose it’s a decent gamble that his value will go up if he has a striker to play with again.

This has been a shite year & the sooner it ends the better - fortunately we appear to have more than enough to still be there (helped by some who really haven't)

Feel for the lad as he has been the one really bright spark this season, but will be a big loss if out for any length of time

In 1996/97 we got two cruciate injuries on a pre-season tour. Then towards the end of the season got two cruciate injuries in one game away at Port Vale.

Ady Williams was one of the original cruciate victims, we signed Keith Curle to make up for losing him and he then played 10 minutes in his first five months here.

Of course it is, we already needed another wide option, we aren't going to let another one go when we've lost an existing player for a while.

It'll be new guy, Podence and Adama until October. We can make a call after that. I expect he'll sign a new deal anyway.

Unless we fancy relying solely on Podence or splashing out on a whole new suite of wide players, I'd suggest that we don't have a great amount of choice.

Ady Williams was crocked when we signed him, ALWAYS on the treatment table.

He wasn't, he got injured on tour.

He made his debut for Reading in 91/92, left in 1996 and had made 200+ appearances for them. He wasn't a crock when he was there.

Realistically this season it’s been one broken bone (albeit an uncoventional one), and a bad knee injury to Neto. Jonny was already injured before the season started and has reinjured that. Marcal is made of glass, everything else has just been minor knocks.

We lost Lescott and Murray for an entire season in our biggest season in decades. That was probably worse.

Thinking about it, a front three out of Silva, Raul, Podence and Traore might not be too bad.

Raul might have to play wide occasionally but he's definitely got the skillset for it.
