General Wolves News

I hesitate to post this as it’ll stir up all the same boring arguments, but Johnny sums up my thoughts perfectly here - it’s the excitement of it, the drama as he picks up the ball, right in front of me not so long ago

its spot on for me, while he frustrates me often, but when he gets on the ball in the oppositions half, I'm already getting ready to jump in the air, my arse hovering just above the (atm) sofa seat, that explosive quality is what we all want to experience from football, isn't it? alongside the pretty, clever build up play.

By the same token we can't have a forward who plays nearly every game and scores one league goal a season, which has happened once already and is where he is right now with seven games to go.

That's not "stats" talking, that's "this is nothing like good enough".

He most definitely is a forward too, not a winger. We don't play with wingers.

Although I will grant you that "assists" is a woolly stat. A five yard pass to someone who spanks one in from 30 yards counts the same as what he did vs West Ham. And it isn't his fault if he puts one on a plate and some doofus misses it (I'm looking at you, Leander). James Henry used to get loads of assists. Didn't mean that he was really up to the mark for a top six Championship team, which is the lowest we should ever be aiming.

I'm not even in the boat of actively wanting him sold (especially with what has happened to Neto), I just think he gets an astonishing amount of leeway given how poor he generally is in front of goal and how little certain aspects of his game have developed.

When he can be bothered he is easily one of the most electric footballers I've ever seen at the club, no question but easily the most frustrating, by a long chalk, Dave Edwards used to get ripped apart weekly for doing more than Adama does per match, I've always considered him a luxury that some games we could ill afford.

His goals is a problem, there’s no denying that. Especially in a team who scores so few goals and relies heavily on the forward players to do so.

However the assists is nonsense. Your eyes tell you he creates chances (and good chances) and the stats back them up.

As Phillips says (and I’ve said) he gets the attention because of what he can do and that’s why he gets more stick when he takes 3 players out the game and then misplaced a yard ball which would likely lead to a chance. It doesn’t make sense how he is so good and so bad at the same time.

We probably will play a back 4 today so against the worst team in the league he has a good opportunity to stat pad!

If he had a football brain in line with his physique and speed, he’d be up there with Messi and KdB.

Is it too much to ask for a player not to fuck it up 9 times out of 10?

I find watching Mahrez, Foden, Sterling, Salah, Mane, Barnes, Rashford, Son, Saka and Grealish (sadly) a far more pleasant experience to watch than Adama.

Lovely interview by 2 of the children who have benefitted from the surplus money for Raul's banner with the man himself

I didn’t know Perry was something of a head injury specialist. And hadn’t seen those quotes from Nuno before regarding his return.

tbh I hope he doesn't play this season then doesn't go to the Olympics. Just need to make sure he's protected properly if his first game is against a Scottish lump looking to make a name for himself in pre season

I bet you like the current away kit don't you? 😀
Not really, although I don't hate it as much as I did when it first came out.

I hated the skidmark shirt when it was originally out (but still bought it!) but have grown to like it over the years. Not sure if I want to pay £35 for one though.
