Where has this narrative that we're underpaying Jota, Neves et al come from?



You only need to look at the raft of new contracts handed out to Doherty etc to bump up their wages and prevent squad disharmony to realise that we'd broken our previous wage structure to convince them to come here.



There are even some fans claiming that we're paying players off the books to cheat FFP! How can you be so stupid as to believe that crap?

Portugal isn't exactly a hotbed for well payed players either, comparatively speaking. The average wage is more than half of the Championship for example.

Clearly the likes of Porto are going to be paying their players more than some of the minnows, but they're not going to be on mega money.

What a wonderful irony that useless, under-achieving Championship clubs are now agitating behind the scenes to see if they can make trouble for Wolves over financial fair play. Rather than run their own campaigns better, or with more ambition, they would rather the league clipped the wings of the leaders, in the hope they can share the unearned bounty of a hefty fine.

No complaints about another Chinese-owned Championship club in the Midlands, though — Birmingham City, heading for relegation under the ludicrously named Trillion Trophy Asia group. Trillion have more managers than trophies, with Garry Monk becoming their third this season. Since sacking Gary Rowett for not being famous enough, they have run through Gianfranco Zola, Harry Redknapp and Steve Cotterill without arresting a slide towards League One.

Birmingham have spent, too, but on rubbish. So running your club with flair and aspiration is wrong, but running it into the ground in chaos is permitted. The Football League should stop pretending that FFP is an attempt to make clubs efficient; it is a tax on ambition by those with neither the talent nor imagination for it.

I'm a bit pissed off at the disrespect shown by these other clubs TBH - they don't deserve someone with Nuno's class - fuck 'em. And I really hope we get 6 points this week from Leeds and Villa following this rather sorry episode.

I would consider myself a sportsman. I have played several sports I hope in the manner intended. Idont like losing EVER but I do accept it when its fair and square. In recent seasons we have not been good enough. We have lacked quality on the pitch and the coaches to bring the best out of players. We now have arrived at a situation where the best Wolves squad in living memory( yes the current team would beat any of our premier league 11's pretty much each day every day in my view) is being coached by cracking team of professional dedicated coaches that appear to be getting the best out of players we considered average. Coady looks every bit a 2m+ player this year where you couldnt convince me he was worth 20k last year! Doherty is doing what he should be doing in a system that suits his limited ability. Jota, Boly and Neves ooze class. Yet a number of rivals moan about how we got here. I cannot see anything illegal or against the FFP rules. Fosun have used the system and their relationship with Mendes to further the best interests of the club and them within the given rules. Dont moan about a system when the system has been worked out. We have spent significantly less than many of our championship rivals and got significantly better return. Suck it up cupcakes. For one its " the wolves model" that appears to be working. Remember at the start of the season a number of reporters thought we would struggle? The Norwich blogger who thought bottom 6?

The timing of it rankles as well. Why now? Why not earlier in the season? Why not during the summer window when we were signing these players? It's just childish, pathetic, disrespectful and unsporting. Absolute cunt soup.

Assuming they are 2 of the clubs involved, I take back any ounce of goodwill I may have posted about Villa and Derby this season.

Plenty of clubs have a relationship with agents, some clubs several agents only that we have the top agent in the world willing to work with us.
