General Wolves News

It's almost like Spiers was talking shite
To be fair I think all he ever said was that Donk came off injured against Wales and wasn't included in the squad for the England game all of which is true.

He speculated and insinuated Donk not being available rather than checking if he was out or not.

He's a shithouse clickbait wanker of a journalist.

He named 2 injuries, can't remember what they were now and said that made him a doubt for the Southampton game

I agree it was poor journalism to not try to look into it further and get more information but speculating that a player whos come off injured may mean the same player is not available in a week and half time is hardly 'talking shite' is it. I think most people after seeing Donk had come off injured would have thought there's a chance he would not be available.

But he is a journalist and like it or not (and I don't) some people hang on his every word.

He has a responsibility not to talk shite, which he does frequently.

His set piece analysis was truly abysmal and people think it's useful and insightful, when it was laughable rubbish.

He does have a responsibility to (to himself and his career/profesional pride not people who hang on his every word thats more fool them) to not talk shite as you put it but thats my point he didn't talk shite really did he.

He didn't outdo himself and go out and find out a more definitive answer but its hardly 'talking shite' to suggest a player who's been subbed off as injured may be a doubt for a game in 10 days or so.

Just seems like your not exactly a huge fan of his (fair enough) and using a stick to beat him with over this that really isn't there.

I've not read/heard the set piece analysis as that stuff bores me to tears anyway (reason I switch off Sky etc at half time and as soon as games end) so can't comment on that.

Two good articles from Tim this week. One with Laurie Dalrymple and one with club doctor Matthew Perry - and people are getting bent out of shape that he said Donk *might* be injured...

Meh.

Random one on the Club merchandise...

Looking to use my cash up as I always forget, and eyeing up a jacket/training top to wear to walk dog etc. Still wear my lecoqsportif “whathouse” one which is still going strong but thought I’d treat myself.

Now my predicament is on the website there are tons of jackets which all look relatively similar. Now I can’t go in the shop to have a look and I don’t know when that will change, so has anyone got one or had one of the Adidas stuff and let me know what is best. Basically something waterproof but not a thin piece of plastic but not a full blown padded jacket either. Then I’d probably get some kind of training top as well. So what’s the difference between “training top” “warm top” etc.

I bought this Training top and it's been perfect for walks in the evening, the white section is padded and windproof.
I was a bit disappointed with the arms, they are basic polyester/nylon, so not water proof and they dont keep the wind out.
Also, there's no hood, so definitely not one for a winters day.
But on a dry day like today when it's nippy outside, this will keep you warm and its got 3 pockets.

Top work from Wolves, kids both just received a card and present from Wolves. Present is a football, pump and other stuff. Very good considering the reduced income.

Yeah Cass had one today as well, she's coloured most of the ball in.

Raul update.
“Raul is comfortable following an operation last night, which he underwent in a London hospital. He has since seen his partner Daniela and is now resting. He will remain under observation for a few days while he begins his recovery."

First time I have seen it confirmed he has a fractured skull :(

Same, fingers crossed for a full recovery for him. I have no idea how these things work with regards to football but that isn't important at this point

Yeah same here, scary have to take some comfort in the Goodman one to be honest only have vague memories as was a kid but didn't he actually come back to playing relatively quickly?

I'm not really even bothered about the playing part just mean that 'fractured skull' can be slightly less serious than it sounds.

Must be horrible for Raul's family, his partner I'm sure has friends etc over here but being so far away from her family etc and his family I'm guessing stuck in Mexico feeling helpless.

Praying for a speedy recover......Our Number 9.

Does Raul/recovery news updates etc need its own thread? I was going to start one with the Wolves update but noticed it posted here.

Sounds similar to Cech who also had emergency surgery - it's the mental implications I worry about (will he really want to play again and go for headers?) as opposed to the physical.

But that isn't important right now - what is important is he gets better for his family.

I think the Ryan Mason injury is probably closer to Raul’s circumstances (fractured skull from contesting a header at a corner) and Mason’s did not look as bad as Raul’s did but still forced him to retire.

(I think Raul’s is worse than masons because Raul was knocked clean out and it is also the side of his head where the skull is likely fractured rather than the back - which is where Mason’s was)
