Good people of Britain...........PANIC

That was a pretty brutal day and can recall being out for a couple of hours mid-afternoon. That peak though came in the middle of a warm spell that just went on and on and on. By the time it hit that height it didn’t really feel any different to anything 30+ or thereabout. Most people were already flagging and long since made adjustments where they could, and those that loved it were still out in the parks lapping it up.

Seem to recall though a couple of floor fans just about keeping it bearable and will dig those out of the loft. I don’t mind a bit of heat but dripping with sweat when you are stood still doing nothing, having a shower to cool down and sweating again before you’ve even dried off ain’t no fun at all. Looks like we’re heading that way again next week and good luck to anyone having to work in that.
Our first game back so hadn't seen the lads in a couple of months. It's Wolves, it's the pub, it's your mates. What more do you want.

Had to leave the pub well before kick off and just go to the ground, was simply unbearable. I dread to think what the indoor temperature was in there, they limited numbers, had whatever A/C they have running, doors open...but it wasn't possible to stay any longer.

Loads of us took our pints outside as it was insane inside the bar. Pre-Covid as well so you had to join the scrum at the bar for a pint which was reminiscent of being on the front row at a gig.

All this attic talk has reminded me to get my bottles of Fullers Vintage Ale out of there for the next few weeks. Don't want them getting too warm and spoiling....

Does opening the loft hatch work? Surely the hot air that rises into that space is simply replaced by more below?

The hottest of hot air will rise into the loft rather than milling about by the ceiling.

Same principle of why downstairs is cooler than upstairs.

As I managed to survive my teenage years then I'm pretty sure it's impossible for humans to do the same.

The Met Office forecast maximum temperatures for tomorrow and Tuesday seem to be about 5 degrees lower than the BBC/Meteo ones (at least in London and Devon). I wonder if the real reason BBC dropped the Met Office was because it didn't generate enough melodrama?

That type of thinking only comes from exposure to fucking Nathan Rao for years. That cunt has a lot to answer for.

"The Met Office is rated as the strongest of the main digital weather forecast providers in terms of consumer perceptions of accuracy, with a Consumer Accuracy Index of 77.5 for first and second providers, compared to an average of 74.3 for the other digital brands surveyed".

And the Met Office itself was saying 50% chance of 40 degrees. It is simply that the model has slightly changed rather than some global conspiracy.

He writes the weather articles for the Express or Mail (at least he used to). Imbecilic and sensationalist. Weather bomb. Snowmageddon. Etc etc. Serious meteorologists now refuse to pick up the phone to him as it isn’t great for your career to be quoted in a Rao nonsense article.
