He did the Cunha deal
He's not Cunha's agent? I'm not saying you're wrong, just don't know how he'd be involved there.

Tbf I'm taking transfermarkt's word for it... But they list him represented by "Bertolucci", whoever/whatever that is. Shit, maybe Jorge owns that agency, too! 😂

He represents the club in the negotiation and acts as the intermediary. Lopetegui wanted him Mendes was told to do the deal. Why do you think the fee was so high? A lot of mouths to feed. Similarly he did the deal with Forest for MGW because of his relationship with the owner and will have earned out of that as well

I mean Chelsea just paid Ballon d'Or money for Caicedo; football execs get conned into those fees all the time.

I'll take your word on it, no reason to doubt what you say as I remember Mendes being involved in that way in the past (as intermediary, I mean).

It's not something itk about it's been publicly stated. Both Jaqui Oatley and Daniel Taylor said the MGW info for instance

I know, just didn't recall that line being trotted out with Cunha specifically.

He is an Agent, he acts for players and clubs as does every agent.
It's how they make money, to blame him for the high fee is not accurate.

It’s Atletico Madrid and Wolves. Not sure it can get more Mendes. On a par with Braga to Benfica
I guess? What's the point of Cunha having his own representatives, then?

Transfers are fucking weird.

I'm assuming Mendes acts as like a broker between the two clubs whereas Cunha's representatives act in the players interest.

I'm not even sure why buying clubs need representation beyond the club execs anyway.

...And it's worse now that people like Mendes have leveraged that power to get into a position where they seem to be the only footballing opinion the club's owners have ever listened to. Of course he's to blame for the high fee, same as the high fee (any fee would be high tbf) for Guedes. They, Shi/Fosun listen to him and have given him too much influence over the years, it worked when starting, hasn't since Fabio.

I don't think theirs been actual confirmation on Mendes' involvement in the Cunha deal, but as been said, all the links are there and the timing and through the nose price match up.

If only Willie McKay was still registered ;)
