Well I'm not going to say "I told you so", but I was absolutely ahead of the curve on the criticism of Jeff Shi as far as this board goes, that's for sure. Seemed mad to me how others couldn't see it. I want him gone. Without even getting in to his ability to do the job and the team of goons he has surrounded himself with, I find the bloke incredibly patronising in interviews and he talks about the fans like we're idiots & couldn't possibly understand the club as a business.

He has directly affected the squad going stale. The lack of recruitment has been ridiculous for a couple of years, and the players that they have got through the door have added next to nothing to the first team (Hello, Hwang) - to the point that the first team squad is weaker now than when we were promoted from the Championship four years ago. Ludicrous.

They can bleat about the successes of the esports team - or the shirt sales in Mexico - or the number of streams their record company has done in the last month - but ultimately, the most important part of the business is that the team perform well on the pitch and are successful. We could have easily finished in the top 7 this season. Regardless of whether we overachieved in the first part of the season, even an average run of form over the last 10 games would have seen us comfortably in the top 6. We've fallen off a cliff. Some of this can be attributed to the manager (see corresponding Bruno thread) but the effect of Shi & co's collective performances, or lack of, cannot be underestimated either.

As I've said, I want him gone, but what I predict will happen is Fosun will make a couple of early, relatively big/promising signings at the start of the next window to appease the fans. Most will gobble it up and tell the others "I don't know what you were worried about", and we'll continue to go around in this circle. That's best case. More likely scenario is we chase big names, sign no one, sell Neves, don't secure the signatures of Moutinho/Saiss etc and Sellars the mouthpiece pops up with a "we tried but are happy with the business we did" once the window is shut. Honestly, they can all fuck off and take Bruno with them as far as I'm concerned. I just don't trust Fosun to employ anyone better, that's the problem!

Hugely concerned about next season and Spiers already coming out with stuff like "they see the answers are already within the four walls" is not helping with my apathy towards the club at the moment.

You make it sound like wolves is JS personal fiefdom It's not. JS and Fosun are Indivisible JS will have a plan and budget and he will be charged with executing it At the moment I would suggest Fosun are happy with him. Like you and some others I do find him a little smug for my tastes

I also think we are showing all the signs of starting to fall apart. When that happens then Fosun will be very quick to judge Shi’s or performance and will replace him.

I think the issue here is that Shi has insulated himself from Fosun by replacing all the independent thinkers with yes men - there are no checks and balances and rather than seeing the writing on the wall (like most of us can) Fosun are going to have to wait for some kind of hard failure (such as relegation) before they can act.

its beyond my mental capacity to calculate the financial impact of relegation, but surely if that does happen then Fosun will have invested a fortune, the assets will have little resale value, and we’ll be almost back to square 1.

I’m truly sad the we had something special (doing something innovative and exciting) and the senior management seems to have been transfixed like rabbits in the headlights while it slipped away. This will be how Jeff is remembered.

i wouldnt say we are falling apart although clearly the last few performances have been poor. i also think that if we were to it would be bruno lage that would be in the firing line.
i dont think that jeff shi has the autonomy that some on here think. i am not sure of his reporting line and without knowing the structure of the fosun group, i would be surprised if he reported directly to guo guangchang. Replacing the independent thinkers as you call them with yes men would have been decisions taken in conjunction with his boss. i suspect fosun would have been happy as costs would have come down.
i am though sad like you as with further investment or indeed better investment i think we could have secured european football next season. of course we still may.

So it’s official: Jeff Shi is a second rate CEO and he should go.

It's not going to happen.
He’ll be gone next season.

We can’t do nothing any longer due to age and contract expiry, and given neither he nor his staff have any experience or ability, failure is assured.

With that it will be bye bye Jeffrey.

As he runs the joint, unless he pisses Gao off I wouldn't hold your breath, especially as none of us have any clue what his KPIs actually are.

If you honestly think a Chinese investment firm with a multi million pound investment will not be taking any notice of their said investment you are delusional and who are these 'independent thinkers' you allude to ?

Charging us a fortune for watching shit performances from teams with no investment is no fun.
Has he run over your dog or something ?

Looking from your perspective then yes. But looking from Fosun's perspective it's a well run company, that is financially sound, and is 8th in the PL. The verdict here won't matter to Guo in all honesty as much as folk here would like it to.

Looking at these price rises he can fuck off with Bruno.

I think it’s clear now that his biggest and (hopefully) last mistake was employing Lage.

Yet again Jeff thought he was just cleverer than everybody else, but all he has done is stripped the club of its identity, made the boring footbal twice as bad, lost all semblance of team spirit and got us into a place where we will be amongst the relegation places next season.

He couldn't even be arsed to come out of his box for the second half yesterday.

I wonder if he's gone too
It was weird, his wife was out - she's quite an enthusiatic supporter. Jeff always looks pissed off - that said hasn't he done a big interview with Johnny Phillips due out soon? Doesn't smell like someone getting the boot.

I suppose the extreme suggestion is that Fosun have a buyer for Wolves lined up..
