Nowt wrong with Silas either, he was a damn good player. We just had an idiot managing us who "scouted him for two years" then parked him on the left wing.
I've brought this up before, but the expectation that MGW should be at a level now where he should be starting Prem games is unrealistic. How many 20 year olds are playing regularly in the Prem at top half sides?
Chelsea have Hudson-Odoi, Reece James and Mount (who turned 21 in January)
Arsenal have Saka who is playing at LB because Kolasinac and Tierney are broken
United have Brandon Williams
He’s been hugely highly thought of by some knowledgeable football people for a long time. Technically he’s very good, his movement is good, he has an excellent engine. He’s only 20, and getting up to speed in the premier league, and he’s been excellent in flashes - and consistency tends to come with age and experience.
He played the first half of the season with a back injury and that’s held him back - I’d hope to start seeing him get that Slightly boring level of consistency going forward, and not feel like he has to do something flash to impress.
