Landmark Klaxon!

It was decent, didn't it get into trouble for people constantly dealing drugs in there though? I don't remember it being a surprise when it closed, put it that way!

Sad as it will finally kill of any (limited) hopes that one of Wolverhampton best pubs will ever come back.

Many happy summers day spent in that beer garden

Surely it becoming a pharmacy killed that hope stone dead anyway. Might as well use the land for something now.

It struggled at the end and the neighbours complained about it that much they walked away as they had restricted opening hours.

I have some good memories from there, I suppose its just a bit of nostalgia kicking in, that and I go past it so often

Yes but a Pharmacy could easily be converted back, loose the beer garden you've lost the pub :(

Oh well, life moves on.

I quite liked it for a pre-Blast Off mini-session. That area (Newbridge/Tettenhall) seems really low on pubs and bars now, not that I'm up that way very often.

The Summer house is one of the best pubs around that area - foods pretty amazing (Nepalese) and a big beer garden for the summer.

The Stile has a good open Mic night and is a proper pub, thats a bit further into Reans. Polish food which I keep on meaning to try but it doesn't look the most appealing

The Newbridge is good for a Cheap Carvery but crap for anything else

Royal Oak at Compton is pretty decent but you're near enough into town by then

Yeah, I like the Stile but I'd have that down as Reans - I only ever go there via Molineux.

It is, but its close enough.

The advantage with the Summer house is that they kicked out the bowls team, so you get to use the garden.

The story is maybe for another thread, but they had spent a fair few grand doing up the bowls pitch and they didn't get any rent of them or takings as they never spent anything, but they did it to keep the tradition going (and the eternal hope they would actually buy something from the bar).

One day they noticed that they were all walking round drinking tea, so they go out and find that they had only gone and hooked a Tea Urn into the pubs electric supply.

The CGIs in that presentation are among the most professionally offensive things I've seen. Cunts.

Amateur bash in Sketchup by the looks of things, I'd like to think I've done better than that!
