Leeds 1-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Don’t understand the “I’d have taken a point before the game” comments. Leeds were missing several of their best players - and their best player on the day went off after an hour when we were leading.

The tactics were rank. We showed little to no interest in having possession of the ball from the moment we went ahead (and even when we scored, it was against the run of play). We showed zero interest in attempting to score or add a second goal.

You simply cannot expect to do nothing other than defend valiantly for over an hour at this level. Tactics were shite, substitutions were shite - performance was shite.

Worst game by far since Bruno rocked up, and he’s got some serious work to do, as have the players.

Pretty pathetic stuff all around today and we got a point more than we deserved.

Sa, MOTM.

Obviously I'm in the minority here but can't agree with this.

Leeds were missing two players of note. Unless you're suddenly telling me Koch and Ayling are pivotal world beaters for them. We're without Boly, Jonny and Neto so there you go.

We all agree the squad is imbalanced and last year was a shit show, we're comfortably mid-table on a good run of form and picking up points, why all the despair from everyone?

Deutsch said the other week, if we are going to play like that then what's the point of getting rid of Nuno? We all know the recruitment was shite, but that doesn't excuse that game management. That's not saying he should have stayed but if the reason for binning him was primarily to have more entertaining football then that's not really happening any longer.
As it stands of the 9 games played 7 have been against teams in the bottom half. We won't go down, I doubt we'll even be in the relegation conversation, but we are bang average

They were without Raphinha for nearly the whole 2nd half of the game. ?

And we only had Neves on the pitch for two minutes?

You were just trying to crowbar Raphinha in with Phillips and Bamford to bolster the point

If only I'd put money on Paddypower that you'd come out with the same bollox again
Not responding to you Paul, but can’t work the bloody thing!
Bit harsh on dendonker, direwolf. He broke up olay fairly well but was abysmal on the ball, as we’re others it seems. Also, he must be able to do something given he’s a regular in the belgium squad?

We seem to have a team of players who struggle to string more than 2 passes together. Utter tripe of a performance, didn't deserve even a point. That 2nd half was as poor as it can possibly get. Semedo possibly putting forward a candidate for worst performance of the season. Dendoncker was praised by some for his performance against Villa, but I see nothing in him to make me change my mind as him bring the worst player in this team by an absolute mile. He can't pass, he can't tackle, he can't shoot, he can't control the ball, he literally does nothing except run around a bit. He's fucking useless.

I want to know how a team of well paid professional footballers can look so inept at so many of the basic things like passing and controlling a football. Shocking performance, worst under Lage by a long, long way.
Can`t agree with you with regards Dendonker. A brilliant back passer.

Because the performance was utter shite? That is simply undeniable. It was terrible.

Results. If the football is poor you can accept it more when you’re not flirting with relegation, which for a period of time we were under nuno in the last season.

I remember the football being a bit tedious to sit through at times but I must have repressed the bit where we were legitimately worried about relegation.

I'll take the point, which we were lucky to get.
Not sure why we defended so deep when Leeds were there for the taking. We just made it hard for ourselves. It was like going back in a time machine to last season.....
Defence did well today i thought. I'm sure Bruno is doing his nut at the front 3. Just when you think you have the combo they don't turn up next match...

???

Wasn't a great performance but a point away at a tough ground can't be sniffed at.

Surprised by the almost universal negativity, two minutes away from a record breaking away win
Think the negativity is it being a very, very poor performance. Don’t think anyone has an issue with where we are In the league, but if you keep having that level of performance, the points will eventually dry up

He didn't break up play well at all. If anything Moutinho was better at that. I'm making no apologies for my view. Dendoncker is an absolute pile of shit and getting in the Belgium team it doesn't change that. He does nothing well. He's rubbish.

We weren't ever in relegation trouble if you exclude the paranoid and deluded. It's bollocks

Was all that was said on the forum for a period of time, y’know….

Agree to disagree it seems.

And no need to apologise, just a football chat my mate

More made up rubbish
I recall some people being worried about it. It would appear I was looking on another forum then…..

fact remains you can stomach the poor football more if you finish higher up the table, and for a period of time we weren’t getting results under nuno.

if the style of football is the same but you’re getting more results it takes away from the football being shit a bit more

So 3/4 of you think Fosun are shady, Bruno is an amateur and our recruitment is shit, but 10th place and 3rd in the form table over the last six games still isn't good enough.

As well as results we also demand champagne performances before the blokes even managed 10 PL games for us.

Is that realistic at this stage??

Mainly because we’ve just sat through 90 minutes of football where we’ve had literally zero interest in having the ball or attacking an opponent that was in/around the bottom 3 before kick off.

They were missing their main striker (we’ve seen how we perform without Raul) and their main midfielder. Plus other players important to the way they play (no one mentioned world beaters).

If we’d played really nice stuff and lost, there wouldn’t be this level of reaction, as proven in the opening 3-4 games of the season. But that performance wasn’t anywhere near good enough. Proper head in the sand stuff if you don’t agree, mate.
