Leeds 2-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

what annoys me most is the smugness from those running the show. Like we shouldn’t dare criticise them. Even if it’s not this season unless something changes it will eventually only end one way

Perfect storm being created a chairman who’s attitude is my way or the highway so therefore employees a load of yes men.
A manager who’s coaching level is probably tier 2 in Portugal but is also being hampered by zero recruitment.
A squad that’s thread bare and is in fact getting weaker by the season.
It could easily happen this season with us going down some absolutely huge holes to fill but they’ll be left open.

The stats don't tell the full story, they should have had a penalty, and three balls twatted across the six yard box could easily have been a goal, but none of that counts as shots or even xG.

Full backs were shite, RAN more so. Donk had a basically average second half which was a marked improvement on the shocker in the first

There were signs of good football early in the second half, but as soon as they started making subs wee were fucked. Playing Leeds first game of the season is hard enough physically, but when we've hamstrung the manager so badly that he literally can't make a viable substitution, then you're just fucked.

Can't fault the effort, or the attacking intent, there was some good stuff in there but if we don't buy players this week we'll be sucked into the bottom three and really struggle to get out of it this side of January.

Fosun can just fuck off. Sellars can just fuck off. We're literally desperate for footballers. Fucking pricks.

You can't have a must win the second game of the season, but I'd say Fulham comes pretty close. Confidence will become fragile very quicky as essentially this is the same group of players who lost week after week at the end of last season. It's why you can't just dismiss the last one

The worst thing for me is that absolutely nothing has changed in terms of the feeling when we fall behind: as soon as we do, that's it. Game over. I cannot ever see us clawing back from a losing position under Lage, regardless of personnel.

Very much a continuation from the end of last season.
Very weak defensively, Collins and Ait-nouri very suspect.
Sa has returned the level we expected.
Our attack is an absolute defenders dream.
We'll huff and puff and compete for a few weeks but when the results don't come we will capitulate.
Relegation is looming very large for Lage at the present moment.

Jeff is either being prevented from spending, or he is one of the worst CEOs in the world. He really has completely neglected his core business in favour of hair-brained schemes that taken together will never ever take as much as we spent on Fabio Silva.

We need a major improvement in the first team squad, such as Bellotti, its getting critical now.

As a general concern going back to last season, I'm with you. But I can't throw any criticism at him there today. There aren't many goals in that team, and he had no ability to change anything. At absolute best you could throw Ronan on for Dendoncker, accept you're going to lose the midfield physically but he *might* score a banger out of nowhere. I mean that's desperate stuff for a Year 5 Premier League club that has two 7th placed finishes behind them.

For a general concern that actually does carry over, we were ridiculously dominant for 20-25 minutes and created what, one header from a set piece? We simply don't look like scoring very often. Which is why we can't give away goals like the equaliser. As I said a fair few times last season, Sa is a weird keeper to assess. Does huge amounts of very good work. Is also at fault for a very high proportion of goals conceded and he is a walking penalty (that he'll never ever save). Very strange.

I think Fulham will roll us over comfortably next week and the toxicity will be there for Jeff and his boys to experience at first hand. No more boardroom bullshit the fans aren’t stupid they can see a disaster incoming.

Shi and Sellars know best, we're all clueless. That pair of cunts need to fuck off.

5 subs allowed. We bring on Chem Campbell on 85 as there's fuck all else we can do.

The state of the squad compared to 2018 is criminal

I fear the absolute worst this season, and think it's probably going to happen.

We just don't make good football decisions. There are too many to list now.

I reckon Scotty thinks he's going to do the class of 2022 with our kids.

After watching the game against
Leeds I am surprised we only lost by one .
We have no attacking teeth .
Podence and Neto were the only ones to score higher than a 5 out of 10 in the first half .
Neves passed to leeds more in the first half than to a team mate .
Better in the second half till they scored then we were devoid of ideas .
Goal kicks were played out from the back .
We had such good passing stats because our back four passed it around at the back as if we were 0-5 up not 2-1 down .
Where was the urgency????
Hated that we were predicted to finish 15th this season .
After that I may just take it ...
First game of the season .
Way more questions than answers .
No Coady and no Mouhtino ! Where is our leader?

Jeff & Scott will think everything is fine because Semedo, Moutinho, Adama & Raul will be back at some point. Enormous squad depth then.

He gets absolute pelters normally (mostly justified) but Hwang was pretty good today. Maybe he's not a complete dead loss (I would never pick him when everyone is fit but that showing was very decent for a back up player, which is what he should be)

Ive told a few people that I think Wolves will go down this season, but my hopeful side, on the thread predicting where we would finish, said just outside the relegation places. In reality no-one would be shocked if we went down. We must have the most threadbare squad in the entire PL.

Looking forward to Vinny trying to promote season tickets for games v Luton, Wigan etc next season.
The annoying factor here is not the fact we could go down that can happen but it’s the fact we’re wilfully putting ourselves in this position and wasting potential growth. Oh and by the way all our season ticket prices are up again enjoy.
