Leeds (A) 19/10 Build-Up & Matchday Thread

Leeds look pretty inventive with their set pieces, plenty of variation to keep you on your toes.

At times it feels like we're playing a man down. We somehow leave acres of space in every area around the penalty box. And then when we get possession we don't seem all that interested in pressuring them.

Fuck. Decent save but Podence put it right at Meslier.

Touch from Podence was naughty. Shame we can’t get him the ball anywhere near the opponents goal more often.

Podence should really score there. Great counter. Come on lads thats a poor half

We look like a team of strangers. Absolutely no link play or understanding between them at all. Neto constantly overrunning the ball or holding on to it too long - Podence & Raul struggling to get in to the match at all. Moutinho anonymous.

Obviously Saiss is struggling, but we’ve seen nothing from Semedo in an attacking sense on the other side. Very clearly, we are a side that needs more time together on the training pitch; because at the moment we have no game plan.

What on earth has happened to our passing?! An old clip I posted ages ago weirdly started getting shared again on Twitter this week. It was against Villa in the year we came up. We kept the ball for ages - pinging it from side to side - there was creative movement, everyone wanted the ball, everyone knew their role - and after a move of about 40 passes they cleared it off the line. We’re a million miles away from that at the moment.

(WAHEY a shot on target right at the end there!)

Really poor half. There's no doubt we have regressed and this is the poorest version of Wolves we have seen under Nuno. No attacking ideas, no slick passing combinations, no pace, very little excitement. Very, very disappointing.

Sorry but we're losing this 2-0 unless we sort it out.

Nuno talks eloquently about identity, we have a definite identity crisis here

First 15 they started like a train but created fuck all, the Podence injury helped us regain some composure and we edged back into the game. Their main tactic is get it wide and cross it in with immense pace, Kilman has defended really well.

By no means a "good" performance, but we've looked solid defensively, and should have pinched a goal right at the end.

I'm gonna say it, I'm not sure we'll get to the next level playing this formation and style.
We’re not playing any style. We’re playing park the bus like we used to, and not even doing that well. We’ve somehow got millions of pounds of talent up against a team of players who have Rodrigo as their only improvement from the championship but are running rings round us.

I thought we coped better as the half wore on. They’ll always leave space open if we can get pass their press. Easier said than done though. Moutinho and Dendoncker barely touched the ball until just before half time.
They’ve got good movement going forward but you can’t admire a side with the amount of stupid man buns in it.

We're not looking great, but I'm sure we'll see improvements in the second half.

Don't you talk about my hair that way!
