No, I wouldn't.

Firstly there is the homegrown argument. Barnes is a hell of a player for PL/Europe squad rules, being both home grown and coming through our academy.

But secondly, he has shown he has a more consistent end product, especially last season before his injury, where i'm pretty sure he would have finished with near to 15 goals. During Barnes's first full PL season, 12 months previous, when our fans were questioning his end product, he still scored 6 goals....1 less than Traore in 4 full PL seasons.

Even when he is not scoring goals, he and Vardy are great for each other, as they give each other room. Both are quick and can make the runs in behind, Barnes can also carry the ball. Vardy's goals dried up last season when Barnes wasn't there....But on the other hand Iheanacho scored more when he came into the side because of sides focusing on Vardy.

What I think would help Traore, and Jimenez, is a body from midfield offering an attacking threat too. I'm guessing that is why Wolves fans want to see a back 4 introduced, as it would be easier to get a body joining the attack from midfield in the number 10 position.

That's why we're desperate to see us bring in a good right winger before deadline day. It should give Vardy/Barnes/Maddison even more room, Perez doesn't really work on the right.
I agree with you on Barnes and I think Neto is better than Barnes when fit.

I would rather have Barnes than Traore, which is what I said right at the beginning.

But it's not really a fair 'choice' between Traore and Barnes is it?
Both considerably different values, as players. I think someone said Traore is available for a third of Grealish.....
We would be looking for a 'Grealish fee' for Barnes, were we looking to sell him, especially as he's signing a new 4 year deal.

I like Neto, very good player, but I'd still take Barnes purely because he's home grown, I'm not convinced there's a huge difference between the two.
There's also the argument that Neto gets more room, because of Traore....And he still doesn't score as often as Barnes. Traore certainly causes more worries in the back line, than Perez, for example, meaning Neto should get more space.

I think both clubs, would be happy respectively, to keep what they have with regards to Neto vs Barnes.
One is a bit younger and already performing to a decent level at his age, but the other is English and has a current better output.

Nice little stat for Kilman. Also a good little account to follow for those of you on Twatter.

What actually is a 'long pass'?
Noticed that 13 players on that list are CBs, with most of the rest full backs/holding midfielders.
Do switches of play count?
He played a lot in the 2nd half, as that's where Leicester left all the space.
He played alright.
Although I thought he was younger than 24 , that's the same age as Ndidi/Tielemans/Maddison/Iheanacho etc.

What do Wolves fans think of Coady?
I know he's done a good job for you, coming through from the Championship, and seems a good likeable lad, good leader etc.
But wouldn't the side be better off with a guy that can do his role in front of the back 4, like an Ndidi, and have Neves + Moutinho (Or another) a bit further forward?
Is it more a case of Nuno/Lage not feeling as though he has the 2 quality CBs and holding midfielder to play that way?

It is basically this at the moment. Boly and Mosquera are injured too, both of which are probably our best bets in a back four. If we sign the CB and the CM we need, we will soon find out anyway!

Are we pinning too much on Yerson? Kid was basically a £5m punt, but he's basically played his way into being key for us playing four at the back in the Premier League on the back of a couple of very good preseason friendlies. Kid's got bags of potential, but just concerned if we're expecting too much?

It can go either way can't it, I don't think Leicester expected Fofana to come straight in last season to an established defence and immediately be their best player in that department, but he was and tbf to Brodge he just picked him, if it's obvious then just do it.

Whereas Arsenal signed Saliba for loads of money, even let him stay in France for a while longer to get more games under his belt, and he can't get a kick at all, looks a complete waste at this stage.

What Yerson gives us is pace which not a single one of our other centre halves (even the kids in the 23s) has, and which we need if we're playing the kind of line that Bruno seems to want.

For now even with Yerson/Boly, I think we need three at the back because midfield is also wrong to play 4-4-2/4-3-3.

Of course, he was openly bought to be in the squad but not first choice and develop over time. Plays well against Crewe and he's Miguel Nadal

Oh aye, and it makes sense to play him because of his attributes, and the fact that our other centre backs are a bit shit in one way or another. Just seems like such a key position to Bruno's success or failure to be left down to a cheap punt

Yeah, we need a new centre back to not only help the team now but also would stop us from being forced into chucking him in the deep end too soon.

I fucking love Kilman. Whomever else we draft into a back 3 / 2, I'd like him to be involved (yes, I would probably pick him over Boly based on current form). He's never really had a stinker of a game, has many attributes that point towards him being a competent top-six defender and all of this on the back of never having a consistent run in the team. He needs ten games minimum to really see if he either uses the experience to kick on, or is instead destined for Stoke.

I can think of 2 stinkers off the top off my head. One not really his fault (Arsenal) the other where he played in a back 4 with Boly and played Walcott onside for about 3 1v1s and was generally miles out of position from the rest of the back 4, he's glacial so anyone gets in behind him it's game over.
He'll never be a top 6 defender, he's alright for a bottom half side though.

Thats the nub, he's not bad its just he's possibly one of the slowest players ive ever seen.

Yeah he's really slow but he doesn't have the positional sense to cover that, probably an experience thing as much as ability. Then there's his heading, twice he put Hoever in trouble the weekend with pathetic headers that fell about 3 yards short of him.

Think there's a lot of people going OTT because he's ok on the ball and not Coady or Saiss. He's no better than either imo.

He literally cannot jump, it’s weird. Shame as with more physicality he’d be superb.

He was awful away at Burnley last season too. In fact given he's had so few starts, he probably has a worse good/bad games ratio than any of our other defenders.

Did play well on Saturday though.

He's started this season very well. I've seen him jump well and his heading in general is pretty good. He's no Chiellini but he's streets ahead of Coady. Needs to work on his consistency.

He reads the game very well and his positioning in general is pretty good. Stepped in a good few times on Saturday to win the ball.

His biggest knock is his pace and mobility, it's just not there and that'll mean he's ok but never to level. He'd do pretty well in Spain or Italy where the pace is much slower.

Based on Saturday’s game I’d be far more concerned about Coady than Kilman. He was caught out more than once and looked to have somehow got slower than he’s ever been. A couple of times he looked like he was trying to run through 3 foot of treacle.
