Well the second half was better but boy did we miss some decent chances

Lack of quality in the final 3rd the difference, did we deserve to lose probably not but we did do a bad start.

In a weird sort of way I'll take that result.

I was expecting much worse

Only one home team lost so far too (surprisingly Burnley!)

We deserved to lose because we couldn't finish a smoothie.

But the signs were definitely there. Semedo in for Hoever alone would make a noticeable difference, I'd wager.

We need some quality players and squad depth. You know it, I know it, every one in a gold shirt knows it so Jeff Shi get the chequebook out.

If you don’t take your chances you don’t win games. What was our xg?
Infogol reckons 1.54 to .48 - Adama's the big one, as you would expect (the first one, now that I think about it)

Sofascore reckons 17 shots, 3 on target, 7 blocks. Sounds about right. Soyuncu has an annoying habit of being right place right time.

Verdict thread open.

Aptitude and effort not up for questioning, quality was lacking especially in the finishing department.
Really don’t like bemoaning our luck after defeats.

He had a fairly good game tbf, just missed a sitter and a couple of other poor decisions.

You mean he ran better off the ball? If so I agree with you, he was much better at that.

His decisions were by and large shocking and that’s before we get to the technique of his finishing.

Neto scores at least one, if not two of those chances today.

He made a poor decision to go inside foot rather than laces in the second half and made a bad decision to pull the ball back for MGW instead of earlier to Raul.

His movement was pretty good today I agree, as was his work out of possession, good positions to be able to break but also strong in his defensive 'duels' as Bruno would call them.

He's not perfect but he's also not rubbish. He was our biggest threat and on another day puts us ahead. We are still way too reliant on him to create, and in today's instances that wasn't his fault either as he functioned well within his unit.

Time to close this. Verdict thread for this discussion.
