Interesting movement in the 'Returning of the Liquidator'.

@bromWWFC
Glad other #WolvesFamily are desperate for the Liquidator to be brought back too! OUR SONG!! #YouTakeOurMoneyGiveUsOurTune @OfficialWolves

@TheWolvesForum
@bromWWFC @OfficialWolves It's @WMPWolvesFC you want to be targeting, although I can't see it ever coming back.

@WMPWolvesFC
@bromWWFC @TheWolvesForum No need to convince me !! I have no objections to it coming back !!

I think it was the police who objected in 02 but that was way before my time, i have had no input at all about stopping or bringing it back

I saw your twitter posts about this. What was the original reason why it was banned?

Because it caused people to smash up the town.

There was a larger hooligan element back in 02, nothing to do with the liquidator just circumstances. This element appears to have once again reduced in size

Thread Closed

Folks, i have looked into the liquidator enq and it is a request that the police made in 2002. This was made by a Superintendant from Wolverhampton at a Safety advisory meeting and it was felt that for a number of reasons the song was inappropriate.
Therefore the request still stands and i guess i should of done some digging before answering the first post.
Sorry for getting your hopes up.

Don't close the thread. It would be good to see how people feel about the Liquidator and if it should be reinstated

I wasn't closing the thread, I was just saying.

It's odd because I saw a petition to bring it back yesterday on FB, must just be a coincidence

hmmm...

I think maybe the minority that were causing the trouble when it was last about have now "jogged on". So if people cannot cause trouble and not chant "fuck off west brom, the wolves" it can come back but we all know that their will be a small minority of idiots who have to chant it

Albion brought it back two seasons ago with the proviso that they didn't swear. Fliers were put out, messages were placed in the programme, etc etc. The liquidator was played, the fans swore, it was never played again.

We will never see it back at Molineux no matter how much people ask.

There's no point having it if you can't chant F##k off west brom, it doesn't mean your a hooligan if you chant something.

Well I'm not a parent but I would not want my child of how old hearing F**K off west brom, the wolves

I wasn't a parent in 02 so was against the banning, now I am I'm in favour. You can't stop kids hearing swear words, but I don't expect the club to play a song knowing that the word "fuck" is going to echo around the stadium 5/6 times in 2 minutes.

Couldn't Wolves give it a try, but warn fans that if there is any profanity it will not be played again? Or am I being rather naive?

We did bring it back, with a request to not sing Fuck Off, it lasted one game.

Albion did exactly that and it was a predictable failure.

Indeed, and it won't be played again at the Hawthorns. So Wolves fans would know what would happen if they swore. Who knows, it might just work.....but then again, maybe not.

Anyone who has been to Chelsea knows that this will always happen. It is embedded in the pshycy (spelling) of the majority of the vocal Wolves fans
