Live Match Discussion: 2020/21

Fuck me. Leeds have been all over Villa. Even after they scored they were just relentless. Villa had no answer and were getting passed round with ease. Some of the movement and passing is great to watch and to think they can play that way with limited players is certainly impressive.

Bloody hell, Bamford hat trick......2 of em bloody good goals too

Sounds like that nasty piece of work Mings has been showing his class today.

23 shots at goal so far from Leeds with 8 on target. Thats more shots that we have had all season isnt it?

Villa talk matchday thread makes ours look like a cakewalk. They are livid

Favourite post -
Schooled by Bielsa i’m afraid
In the same fashion that Nuno does

overload us out wide, more energy in the middle

this game is a lot like our wolves defeats

😄😄😄😄😄😄

Leeds are actually a good team, there's more to them than fitness

Think there's needle with Bamford and Villa after the Elland Road incident and he got one of theirs sent off. Mings et al probably remember it and it was a bit of a red rag when he's at it again. Not that I have any sympathies with the other side of Grealishs game.

Mings being a horrible cunt > Bamford shithousery.

Leeds put Villa to the sword in the 2nd half - 2 sublime goals from Bamford from his hat trick.

Puts our result from last week in perspective i.e. Leeds are a very good team and should finish in the top 10; they had numerous chances in the 2nd half to make it a cricket score, whereas against us they had the dominance in the 1st half but without much cutting edge in creating genuine chances, and we were well on top in the 2nd half.

That was more like a Villa performance from last year - I'd say their bubble has well and truly been burst.

Nice to see Costa playing well and establishing himself as a genuine Premier League player - albeit his time with us had finished and we have moved on.

Villa's bubble was blown up out of proportion anyway. Sheff Utd are really struggling and with ten men from early on (and missing a penalty to go in front) were always there for the taking. Fulham are fucking awful and the Liverpool game was an absolute freak that will never happen again. Not sure how the Leicester game panned out but they've had a start to the season that belies what they are. Not that I'm too bothered, the deluded fuckers will think they're in with a shout at the title so it'll be great to see them floundering later on in the season.

I don't like Villa and with Mings and Grealish they have two of the most unlikeable players ever. Villa looked far more solid and effective for about and hour than they did last season and in Martinez and Barkley they have done well. Cash was swamped yesterday but had no support otherwise he looks a decent buy too. Leeds were just like a marauding wave with five. ,six or seven attacking on the break every time and at the back Ayling played really well . Tactically Villa had no answer. Bielsa got it spot on.

Villa, sadly will be alright. They have more than enough about them. Leeds could challenge for Europe if they keep playing like that.

The issue for Leeds is if they come against a side that can defend and wants to counter attack them. Rope a dope works as a tactical blueprint. Try and out Bielsa them with a high press and they are right in the game (Liverpool). Not have a quality defence and they run through you (Villa). Defend properly and they are exposed as having little cutting edge and likely to punch themselves out.

Imo the game was pretty even for 60 minutes, I was quite surprised just how poor/sloppy Leeds passing and first touch was up to then, lots of attacks broke down and Villa had chances on the break. Once they scored though it was all Leeds and while Villa are much improved this season, it showed up their frailties at the end

In the odd world we live in at the moment, West Ham fans can watch their game today in the cinema next to the Stadium

Does seem they reverted to type and conceded a ridiculous amount of shots (27, 9 on target)

Even when we lost to West Ham and the Chelsea 5-2 they both only had 15 with 6 on target.

Man City "only" had 24 and we were down to 10 men for 70 minutes.
