Also think Liverpool's midfield has been exemplary - can't recall Moutinho, Dendoncker or Neves having much of the ball this evening.

I thought neves was ok to be fair - I’m looking forward to seeing the stats, but I think he had more of the ball when he was on than the other two, and made more progressive passes.

I thought subbing him was the wrong option.

Fair comment PQ, he made some brilliant passes in the first half.

mou played a number of clever passes to help us retain possession, which was a problem in general today.

4-0 is a harsh scoreline for me BUT we looked beaten at 2-0 and that isn't really good enough.

We played a back four to attack their make shift defence and it hasn't worked as they still have as good a front three as anybody in this league. I don't think we have disgraced ourselves regardless of scoreline.
It was a free swing and fair play to Liverpool. You make your own luck and you take your chances. They deserved to win but the scoreline flatters them. I am concerned about us in the final third agaisnt bthe better sides but we have enough even with the new system to win enough games to stay mid table.

4-0 is harsh but nobody can say it was undeserved, they were good second half

We have been toothless up front all season, so without Raul it's not going to get any easier. We are clearly in a 'take one step back to take 2 steps forward' phase. At least, that's what I'm hoping... because right now we are not as competitive as in the previous 2 PL seasons.

Said before the game Silva should have started. We need a focal point in the centre of attack, this "fluid front 3" thing needs to be shelved we aren't prime Spain. Hopefully that will happen on Saturday.

Their first goal is a joke from our point of view but the others all have elements of real quality that you sometimes encounter when you play this calibre of opposition unfortunately. They made light work of Leicester recently so there's nothing to be overly concerned about

We were the better team prior to the goal I thought. Liverpool were almost scared to attack us. The goal changed all that though unfortunately.

I do think 4-0 maybe flattered Liverpool a tad, though they clearly deserved to win.

The first half was pretty even - 5 shots each, one on target each, unfortunately their one was a goal after a huge error by the skipper overplaying his chest control straight to Salah to score.

the second half was awful, they completely dominated and scored another three.

I thought Marcal was excellent, Neves played well until he was subbed, and Traore had some good moments but that’s about it. Liverpool’s front three are excellent and our back four couldn’t cope. They cut through our midfield with ease, and we didn’t create much at all - Donk had about three ultra soft headers that my gran could have saved but that’s about it in the second half.

the midfield three can’t play together in my opinion, they’re too similar. Hard working and good at slow short passing, but nothing quick or getting us moving other than Neves long range switches. Vitinha looked lively when he came on, though Liverpool weren’t pressing as hard by then with the game won, but I’d rather see more of him if we have to play a three, at least he offers quick movement and passing, which is what we need.

Fabio has to be starting too, pod up top didn’t work.

was a real disappointment, some really irritating Liverpool fans at work that will be chirping all week.

Not much you can do at 2-0, they counter so well and don't mind committing players forward.

Even if you go toe-to-toe with them that front three will carve you open. Best front three in the league

I think this is the best we've done points wise out of the 3 seasons!

If I don't hear Clive Tyldsley again it will be too soon

I don't think I've ever heard a commentator appeal for a penalty as if he were playing before, it was embarrassing

I lost count the number of times we lost the ball in good positions. Some of the passing was very poor.
