Loan Watch 2019-2020

Would anyone expect MGW to 'tear it up' if he spent a year in the Championship? He's made plenty of match day squads and more.

A lot of these things come down to circumstance.

And he never plays...

Much like Oskar Burr “makes the squad”.

You’re not getting in this team unless you’re very good. Which is what TT and I are saying.

Do you think Ryan Giles has a future here at LWB

No idea, I've never seen him play.

I don't think Vinagre is any great shakes though so to my mind it's perfectly conceivable that someone could take his spot as understudy to Jonny.

No, not in a team towards the top of the Championship

I'd really like to see MGW and Kilman go out on loan to see how good they are

Not sure we'd learn that much in that sense personally, I think it just depends how desperate for football they are.

Kilman has certainly seen the benefits of training with Nuno, and has played well in his performances so far. Good squad member.

As for Morgan, he does need meaningful minutes, needs to be thrown in the deep end more, but I hope that is with us.

I hope it’s with us too - I’d have liked to see him come on a bit more in a few of our recent games when Moutinho looked knackered, or when we were 2-0 up against palace and the game was clearly won - next season is a huge one for him, he needs to start playing and demonstrate he belongs at our level. Hopefully being back problem free will allow him to do so

I look at players like Harvey Barnes, Mason Mount & Rhian Brewster - they were clearly good enough to play and proved it at a championship level.

I'd rather send MGW and Kilman both out on loan and realise at Christmas that they're actually much better than we think they are and recall them.

Likewise, if they don't cut the mustard at least we'd know and can either try to develop them more or look for permanent moves away

I've got 2 issues with send our decent players out on loan,
1, it seems to me most of the players we send out hardly get any gametime
2, nobody plays the way we do, so not sure what it tells us

In the case of MGW as an attacking midfielder I don't think it really matters if they don't play like us as long as they do try to play football. If they want him I'm let him to to Swansea for half a season

Yeah, Stevie Cooper is a good guy (of course they can still go up, though I doubt it). He would definitely use him.

That would be great.....I'd want guarantees of how much he'd be used

Should probably start a new loan thread for 20/21. Feels odd that some teams are in full prep mode for next season and 2 Divisions are still being played
I agree. I'll wrap this one up with a summary once the games are done then put a 20/21 thread up with the new loan(s).

Cardiff got themselves back in the tie at Fulham before conceding a minute later, dreadful defending by Bacuna to allow Kebano to score. If only they had a decent defender there

Bacuna has never been a defender, either. Ridiculous that he's always shunted out there.

Problem is he's not a very good midfielder either
