Loan Watch 2020-2021

Sanderson started ast night - they lost to Ennis' Plymouth. Harris threw him under the bus at the end of last season so not surprised we didn't send him back there.

I think this new role is to find clubs for loanees, Olifanjana keeps an eye on them when they are there. Lescott does the same at City

Yep, full game for Sanderson. Started the game at right-back but then moved into the middle.

Not much Sarkic could do about Saints' first, took an important deflection. Could have done more with the second though, perhaps.

We don't piss around anymore do we? He didn't make the bench last week as they have 6 players on loan

Interesting to see if he hangs around as cover for LWB or we ship him out again

Surprised he hasn't done better than he has so far - looked to be a very promising player

Like so many others he struggles to nail down a first team spot when he’s on loan.

Yeah may be similar to last year when we recalled him from Shrewsbury

My Cov mates are really annoyed. They said he played a few of their games earlier in the season and started well - but had a couple of average performances and then fell behind McCallam, who’s been one of their best performers.

They did say that his average performances were starting as a left back in a back 4, where he struggled. But when he was put in an advanced position or LWB he looked great.

Ryan Giles recalled
Good, he's too good to be pissing about not playing.

IMO his greatest attribute is crossing so we should try to find someone who will play him as a winger.

Timmy seems to think he is going back out on loan this week

They've got too many loanees now so someone has to miss out...and he and McCallum are both LWBs so you're only going to pick one.

From the weekend:

Sarkic played in a 1-0 defeat at Sunderland: not much he could do about the goal, a header that looped over him, but he was caught out of his box on another occasion and was lucky it didn't result in another goal.

Ronan, Burr and Gomes all played a full game for Grasshoppers in a 2-0 win. Burr was full of running from the right wing and his early run should have resulted in a goal. Bonatini came on as sub for the last 20 minutes.

Rafa Mir followed up a full game in mid-week with half an hour from the bench against Villarreal, and hit a blank in both games.

Ruben Vinagre played 82 minutes of a 1-0 defeat for Famalicao.

Unused sub: Sanderson

Not in squad: Giles, Campana, Jordao.

Bit of a fortunate one for young Ryan but I'm sure he won't care!

From 1.55:

Dion Sanderson also came on for the last half hour or so in a 1-0 win at Ipswich on Tuesday.
