Loan Watch 2021-22

Really good finish too. Great to see him adding end product consistently.

Bolla and Bonatini have scored for grasshoppers today.

Someone posted the highlights of the GC on molmix. The player that catches the eye for me is the forward Sene, who is on loan from Basel (with an option to buy).

Looks like he has good strength, good pace, good finishing, good awareness, good passing and can play all across the front three. He looks tailor made for the PL to me

Only 20 as well. Big unit and at Juventus youth before going to Basel.

Has 4 goals in 3 league games so far and very impressive in the two match clips I’ve seen (the smallest of small sample sizes).

Like to think he’s on our radar to play as an option in our front 3 and give us squad depth.

I'm getting massively carried away but he does, to me anyway, look like one of those players who's got "it".

Let's not bother signing Trincao and get this guy instead!

In the game between SAD Belenenses and Tondela, Dadashov starts for Tondela but marques isn't in the B-SAD squad.

Morgan Gibbs-White - Sheffield United, The Championship

Played the full game in a 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth. Involved in a lot of attacking play, and took his goal extremely well, first-time on the run. Was unlucky not to see his free-kick deflect in and also put a shot wide.

Goal on 0:38

Ryan Giles - Cardiff City, The Championship

Played the full game on the right in a 1-0 defeat at home to Reading. Seems like he was the main attacking threat, hitting the post with a long-range effort and flashing a 25-yarder just wide.

Matija Sarkic - Birmingham City, The Championship

Another game another defeat, this time at the hands of a resurgent Forest. He won't be happy with the second, a header that he let in at the near post that he should have had covered.

Taylor Perry - Cheltenham Town, League One
A full game in a 2-0 defeat at home to Rotherham. His error in failing to clear eventually led to the second. Had a couple of decent efforts on goal though.

Renat Dadashov - C.D. Tondela, Portuguese Primeira Liga

Played 76 minutes in a 2-0 win at Belenenses in the centre of a front three. Links up well with his team mates, setting them up for a couple of chances, although he had no part to play int he goals.

Austin Samuels - Aberdeen, SPL

Played 78 minutes in a 2-1 defeat at home to Celtic. Started on the left but caused more problems after he switched to the right. Had a shot at an angle that went just over and it was his cross from the right that won the corner that led to the goal.

Connor Ronan - St Mirren, SPL

Played just over an hour in a 1-0 win at Livingston. It was his breakaway run on the counter that led to the winner.

Luke Matheson - Hamilton Academicals, Scottish Championship

Another full game the day before his 19th birthday in a 2-1 win over Inverness.

Bendeguz Bolla, Leo Bonatini, Tote Gomes, Leo Campana - Grasshoppers Zurich, Swiss Super League

Full games for Toti and Bolla in a 5-2 win, the latter getting the fourth with a fine finish across the keeper. Leo played 68 minutes, getting a first-half goal and assist: his goal a tap-in at the far post. Campana replaced him. Agree with the shouts for Sene, he looks a great prospect.

Joe Young - Runcorn Linnets, Northern Premier League Division One West
Went out of the FA Cup in a 3-2 defeat to Gateshead, who play a couple of leagues above them.

On as sub: Cutrone came on for the last 20 minutes in a 2-0 defeat at Roma, had a header on the run routinely saved by ex-teammate Rui. Lonwijk played the second half in a 3-1 home loss.

Unused subs: Sanderson, Corbeanu
Not in squad: Vinagre, Marques, Smith, Sondegaard.

If and when we actually play a balanced 433 he'll be a player. Smug views on him being shit baffle me, because he isnt, he's just not suited to Wolves

Yeah, I really hope by next summer everything has gone swimmingly for both sides and he can come into a team where he gets regular game time as an attacking midfielder for us. Too much potential to let it go to waste

Maybe he's a very slow burner but for me he's shown very little improvement in 4 years around first team football, he's still looks like a little kid running round in a Premier League game. Physically he doesn't seem to be capable of competing at that level, too weak to hold defenders at bay and too slow to simply skip away from them. Yet to see anything consistently from him to prove he can overcome those shortfalls through intelligence and technical ability, generally succumbs to flicks and hopeful first time passes that don't achieve much.

Perhaps a spell as a true #10 would give him the freedom to find more space to play in and move away from the duels he struggles with, doesn't seem to be convincing many people to give him that opportunity though.

Kid's a straight up baller. I think he'd have gotten minutes under Bruno but I understand him needing to go out somewhere and be the first name on the team sheet. Hopefully it does him the world of good; if he reaches his ceiling he could still have years with us.

Is he playing wide in a 3 up top for them?

I'd love to see him do well here but we have so many players to n that position I can't see it ever happening.
