Loan Watch 2022/2023

Good run and finish. That side are Estonian incase anyone was wondering, just looked them up as had never heard of them.

Still took it well though.
Agreed, my point was more we don't, or least haven't for a number of years looked for our centre forwards to make those runs. Another reason why signing him was bad for us and him in at least the medium term...not his dad though obviously

I get the level, but he's running in behind to a pass we historically wouldn't make
Tbf we’ve never had midfielder//forwards picking the ball up centrally in positions to play that pass. We’re either too deep, forced wide or just opt wide. That hopefully appears to he changing.

We’d also not likely have a striker given the freedom of the pitch in the final third and an absolutely huge passing Lane.

Unlikely to ever find that sort of space when it often takes an eternity to get that far up the pitch through a long chain of safe option passes.

Nice finish but that pass would have been cut out by the CBs at any decent level.

Okay have updated OP to try and keep track of loan player stats. Let me know if I'm missing anyone!

I've heard if Cundle goes on loan it's to a League 1 club...

Unless it's Derby, Ipswich or Wednesday then I'd keep him. Disappointing there isn't Championship interest

Forgive me for saying this but MK Dons would be a good fit style wise.

Campana has picked up a leg injury. No word on the severity just yet.

Hope you have apologised to Mr Coady. The abuse you gave him when Nuno first came in and moved him to the centre of defence. Appalling behaviour...

Update from the weekend - midweek post to follow soon.

Fabio Silva - Anderlecht (Belgian First Division A)

Another game, another goal for Fabio. Played 86 minutes of a routine 3-1 win.

Ki-Jana Hoever - PSV (Eredivisie)

Played the full game as PSV beat FC Emmen 4-1.

Dion Sanderson - Birmingham (Championship)

Played a full game as Blues beat Huddersfield 2-1. Danny Ward got in between him and another defender to score, but otherwise a decent game according to the post-match report.

Ryan Giles - Middlesbrough (Championship)

Played 90 minutes in a 3-2 defeat at Stoke. Got the assist for the first, a fine corner swung in from the right, and was unlucky not to get another after Howson just failed to get his head on another cross.

Taylor Perry - Cheltenham (League 1)

Played 77 minutes of a 1-0 defeat at Barnsley as Cheltenham’s poor start continues. Had one surging run down the left early on and cut back well, only for his team mate to scuff his shot..

Bendeguz Bolla, Hayao Kawabe - Grasshoppers (Swiss Super League) -

Both played 90 minutes but this time it was Bolla’s turn to grab the assist, putting a great ball across the box for a tap-in as GHZ fought their way from 2 down to win 3-2. Kawabe also forced a save out of the keeper with a rasping 20-yard drive.

Louie Moulden - Solihull Moors (National League)

Made his debut in a 4-1 opening day win at Aldershot.

On as sub:. Theo Corbeanu came on after 21 minutes for Blackpool in a 2-0 defeat at Stoke

Unused subs: Richards, Lonwijk

Not in squad: Sang-Bin, Campana (injured).
