Man City 1-0 Wolves: Verdict Thread

They couldn't find a definitive angle Lineker said. Well you don't give the penalty then. Absolutely shocking, surely a corrupt decision in my eyes.
Actually Lineker stated that they (var) couldn't find an angle to turn it over......almost rolling his eyes as he says it.

3 years in, people still say this, yet nothing changes. Without VAR today we lose to a dodgy penalty, with it we lose to institutional incompetence.

Saying the system is fine, it's the people operating it who are the issue, is irrelevant when the people don't change and there's no desire from those who can change that to do so. It's an abomination, the game is so much poorer because of it
Well yeah but it doesn’t make it any less true does it? Unfortunately the people who do say this aren’t the people who influence it so no it won’t ever change. Unless one day, by some absolute miracle, someone who can change it actually gives a fuck that the league is now officially rigged and is available for all to see. The PGMOL are the Boris Johnson of the footballing world

And Keown said the Max handball was more a penalty, they were clearly in the refs head, why the fuck did Joao have his arms in the air

MOTD pretty much mocking the PL for it’s explanation. Clear angle shows it doesn’t hit the arm. What will they say now? Nothing keep quiet and move on it’ll be yesterday’s news soon.
Serious case of “ whos watching the detectives” with the PL and PGMOL.

We need somebody to do what Jude Bellingham has done recently.

Speak uncomfortable truths and start shaming PGMOL.

Instead, players and managers are forced to bow to these cunts and their incompetence under the guise of 'respect'

They've got some fucking front to charge any player criticising the standard of refereeing in this country when PGMOL do far more to bring the game into disrepute than any post match interview.

Motd think the yellow card for Rsil was incorrect but having got it his actions were stupid.
They think the pen was bollocks too.

Because we couldn’t score in a bothel we really do need to ensure we don’t concede. That is not helped by shit officiating backed by shit VAR

You would have been a great 2010/2011 Blackpool fan.

I'll be happier not getting relegated.

They had charlie Adam and DJ Campbell two blokes who couldn't get in their national sides. We've got Moutinho and Jimenez two of the finest players to ever play for their nations. Like comparing a pellet gun to an AK-47

The excuse given that there was no conclusive camera angle is quite simply a lie. Whilst waiting for the decision it was clear from at least one camera angle shown on tv that it didn’t hit Moutinho’s arm. Marriner has either made a basic mistake and therefore isn’t suitable for the role or he Is corrupt. Either way Wolves should highlight it and demand at the very least he is never allowed to have any role in officiating our games in the future.

Although the penalty decision was harsh, whats his fucking arms doing up in the air, it’s not a natural position and its obvious a ref is going to give that if it’s anywhere near his arm, as it’s not clear and obvious, how can VAR overturn.
Personally I think when jumping or stretching to block a cross or shot your arms being up in the air is way more natural than them being tucked behind your back.

After re watching it’s incredibly harsh. As I mentioned previously if it’s not given on the pitch, VAR doesn’t give it, and vice versa. Feel shit on, but I guess there’s enough doubt for them not to overturn it.

Shit really. Arms are in a fairly natural position to be fair when tracking back, but as mentioned I guess it makes the silhouette bigger.

2 great defensive performances against 2 of the top 3. We’ve lost 1-0 to United, Spurs, leicester, Liverpool and city. Need to cut out the draws with your Burnley’s and Norwich’s and we’re a top half team

You seem to be more sanguine than I this morning. I feel absolutely robbed by that penalty decision, having watched it in the cold light of day I stand by my original thought that it doesn't hit his arm.

I'm still narked by Raúl being an idiot as well!

O I am frustrated Ofcourse. I guess is he more frustrated when the game wasn’t a ‘free hit’ so to speak.

I’m probably more annoyed at Raul than the penalty. The penalty is taken out of our hands, whereas Raul has just been an absolute moron, irrelevant of the first booking being ridiculous. Brighton next isn’t it? So we are now missing our only real centre forward of first team quality for a game with a team we are competing with positionally. I truly hope Lage has torn him a new one

We definitely need to request that Marriner not be involved in our games again. There's conclusive proof he's a Villa fan so we have a good reason. Not like Lee Mason and Nuno just because he was shit.

People keep saying things even themselves out . If that’s the case we are due about 6 penalties and 5 opposition goals disallowed thanks to the slide rule

Marinner Dean Moss Attwell Mason Scott. Top referees in the best league in the world who rarely have a good game refereeing us . It can’t just be coincidental. I bet we would not have got that penalty away at any big 6 side and that speaks volumes as to why the premier league is a closed shop. I found myself reminiscing about the Leicester winning season. Plenty of fans from other clubs touted for them just to break the big six stranglehold. With VAR and the premier league in its current guise the game I have loved all my life is in danger of becoming a bit of a joke .

Don't disagree with what you say, but to get some penalties we have to get players in the box on the ball occasionally.

Yep. The argument could be said the top teams get more decisions and ‘luck’ as they spend more time in the oppositions box, meaning there is more suspect events or events that force referees into a decision
