Man City 1-0 Wolves: Verdict Thread

All the big clubs have had soft decisions go their way today. No doubt MOTD will just laugh it off after a thoroughly mild examination.
To be honest whilst ours was a fucking joke, soft or not can see why the other 3 were given, (saying that villa could easily have had one as well).

They had charlie Adam and DJ Campbell two blokes who couldn't get in their national sides. We've got Moutinho and Jimenez two of the finest players to ever play for their nations. Like comparing a pellet gun to an AK-47
Most Mexicans I know would not have Raúl anywhere close to that caliber in terms of national team. Nowhere close.

But if you think installing Ian Holloway’s tactics is a good idea I suppose it wouldn’t be boring.

Don't disagree with what you say, but to get some penalties we have to get players in the box on the ball occasionally.

Yep, with tricky/speedy players like Pod, Trincao, Traore, RAN and Hwang, we should be asking defenders so many more questions in their box.

Tbh, if we're going down the cynical/shithouse route I'd rather we were pulling a Salah/Sterling in the box and allowing defenders to 'unbalance' us than feigning injury in non-threatening positions or getting sent off blocking free kicks in the opposition half

Yeah - fuck off with that, there are only so many blood soaked dictatorships willing to spend £1 billion on players in an effort to sportswash their way to respectability in the world - your not on the moral high ground at all you cunt.
Your forgetting the bit where they picked Mendy for 6 months after he was was under investigation and charged for rape, (know innocent till proven guilty but if it was anyone in a normal job you can bet they would be suspended).

Then there is the whole super league craic as well.

How those cunts have the neck to claim the moral high ground on anything is beyond me.

Been saying this on twitter to a lot of City fans piping up and being sanctimonious about yesterday. Moment you bring up the super league they go very quiet.
FFP breaches which they got away with to.

Think you can split City fans into 2 groups those before 2010 who weren't in it for the glory and you can talk to about football ( and fair play to them they won the football lottery when the money came in), and then the newer fans who fall into the entitled arrogant super 6 set.

Always liked City, proper club, proper fans, but the longer they've had the money and the more glory hunters they've attracted the closer they become to just a standard Sky 6 club. Plus in Sterling, Grealish and Mahrez they have a trio of diving scrotes

Being an occasional reader of Blue Moon I fully concur

Pep's comments re how hard it is to play against a team that is not prepared to play is difficult are laughable.

What the feck did he expect us to do!! We are away against the league leaders, are down to 10 for the second half and been shafted by Moss & Marriner with a non penalty. Of course we are going to restrict the space and make it difficult - opening up just means they score another 3 or 4 and we're done.

At 1 - 0 we always have a possibility of a defensive mistake, a slip and a chance - would have loved Kilmans header to have evaded Ederson, hewould have deserved it for how he played - real karma.

(And on the claim for a penalty against him - hit him above the shirt sleeve level, so leaning in or not my understanding of the current rule is that is not handball)

There may be a bit of history between the two men...
There is a definite history between Hackett and Riley. However, in this case, Hackett is bang-on. Riley is the weak leadership cog that is making the PGMOL the laughing stock of European football. Until he goes the old guard of Moss, Mariner, Dean and others will continue to referee and adversely affect the competitive aspect of Premier League games. It beggars belief that things have become so bad when we have much better referees (although still not world-class) in Hooper, Bankes, and Brooks coming through the ranks. Only Taylor, Oliver (whose officiating has improved notably this season), and Kavanagh are up to the standard required. Pawson had potential but still makes too many errors, with the result that Atwell (whose performance has finally begun somewhat to match the overly hyperbolic expectations that David Elleray engineered) getting more and more big games. I personally cannot wait to see the end of the fatuous Jon Moss, the arrogant and lazy André Mariner, and the show-boater Mike Dean (although I have to say that he has cut out a lot of his histrionics lately and begun to function as a proper referee).

Without knowing what was said we'll never know, but what we do know is Marriner would fuck us at every opportunity (proven over and over) and Moss is just a grade A cunt.
Thats is a hell of a lot part of the problem, in rugby which is by no means perfect, you hear the discussions and the rational behind the decisions,ok you might disagree but you hear why they decide what they decide, communication means a hell of a lot
Instead PGMOL reckon we are not able or capable to understand this so keep it to themselves.
Which as arrogance goes is on a completely different level.

Finally caught up with the thread, having not commented yet. Firstly, as has been mentioned hundreds of times already, the penalty is a joke. I haven't watched MOTD or any of the other shows yet, but i hope everyone has called it out for what it is. Unfortunately, it makes no difference. They're given an opportunity to right the wrong, and they still fucked it up. Nothing happens, the world moves on, and Wolves are once again done out of points.

Part of me thinks they've given it because they've been given a hard time about the Kilman one earlier in the game where he's lent in to the cross - so they've tried to even it out.

Controversial decisions aside (and yes, i know who our last two opponents have been), the lack of goals or chances created is a real concern. We simply have to start scoring some goals sooner rather than later.

Puts a pretty long tail on the "clear and obvious error" mantra ay

There are so many examples of other leagues doing VAR (or similar) better that it can only be arrogance that stops them learning lessons from elsewhere. I mean FFS, consult the NFL! We've been doing replay in that league for fucking ages. Yes, I know, not a 1:1 fit, but still, it'd be a start.

This isn't to say that the NFL's replay rules are perfect, but they are useful as a baseline, IMO.

Sack Riley and give Hackett the job. He’s just passed the interview 😂😂😂
Hackett always agrees with the football fans point of view, if he had a position of any power with referees, he would tow the line and side with the referees, don’t be fooled, it’s like being a politicIan, there all two faced fuckers.
