Can’t see anything other than a loss coming out of this. Would like to replace Jose but we don’t have any other option available - Dias would laugh at coming up against a young boy like Fabio. Best hope is if City rest their entire team. And their bench too.

Best just to forget this game is happening and start the Villa thread instead

I was going to say we need an old school Wolves away performance with rapid breaks as before. But that only works with Raul to provide a break by holding the ball up. Can’t see anything other than a routine 2-0 win for city, if we are lucky.

The last outing for 5 at the back, then look forwards and plan for next season and take a better look at Vitinha and RAN and see if any of our CHs can consistently play well in a back four. I’d take a point!

If we start the game the same way we as most of our games I can see 2-0 at least before half time.

4 will be an utter disaster without Boly.

Its simple really, none of this silly tactics nonsense, go with a 7-2-1 formation and park Traore on the half way line and hope we can get 2 or 3 balls to him somehow.

If City don’t win by three clear goals, I’ll be astounded. And if we raise our game here and get anything out of it (won’t happen), that makes performances like the one yesterday even more frustrating - because we know we have talent in the squad.

I said Fabio should start in the verdict thread yesterday, but having slept on it, I agree that he’d be better coming on as a sub for now - even though WJ is useless - maybe giving Fabio half hour rather than 10 minutes.

The reality is, they are a fantastic squad and in fantastic form. Looking at the players rested yesterday, we can guarantee Cancelo, Sterling & probably Jesus start v us.

Tbf our defence looked ragged with 5 last night at times............against Newcastle
Newcastle are not bad as an attacking team with Almiron and S-M. Shame they have joelinton to finish (or not).

Sort of Bright style from 2017, with similar finishing ability perhaps.

Glad I'll be at work. I'm sensing a massacre.

De Bruyne on dead balls and picking crosses with our back line refusing to attack balls into the box is a recipie for disaster.

It'd be horrific if they then had Sterling, Mahrez and Foden running at us too. Oh.

Eternal optimist thinks they've got to stop winning eventually though so the match will be on record and stored under do not watch.

Think this would be the last time this season I would play a back five (although I think as said many times he will wait for Boly to be back).

think Ait-Nouri might start. Jonny’s first full 90 yesterday, just wonder if they might take risk out of it and leave him for Villa game, but we will see.

otherwise struggle to see anything else changing, although semedo and Moutinho did get knocks in the second half last night

S-M is an excellent player and Almiron is a great workhorse but without Wilson I was disappointed how easily they fashioned some pretty good chances.

To my untrained eye Semedo's knock looked heavier than one you are playing with 72 hours later. I think it'll be Hoever at RWB.

The good news is KDB played the 90 yesterday so I'd imagine he'll get a rest. They'll rotate Cancelo, Foden, Sterling, Laporte and Bennie Silva back in so nothing much to worry about 😀

The best we can hope for is Man City to have their worst game of the decade. Dont forget Martyn Tyler is on their side, the one eyed bastard. Damage limitation im afraid. But i live in hope that a miracle can happen.

What position does Tyler play?

Traore and Neto better be playing out of their skins to make something happen or we're gonna lose to nil pretty easily.

It'll be a 10 men behind the ball low block with frustrating counter attacks, and chances galore for them I'd imagine.

I'd probably use this game to rotate a little too.
