Really, really hurting after a really good performance. If I have a criticism it is not taking RAN off just before as he was hobbling! Kilman misses the ball through, but it’s very unfortunate with the deflection.

limited them really well, slowed the game down when we needed to and for the first hour or so provided a threat. Even in the first half though, you could see Neto and Traore had to pick and choose their moments to break away quickly.

we’ve been fucked by the schedule, simple as that. It’s outrageous reslly

Tremendous effort, beaten more by tiredness than anything else. Looked great until last 15 or 20 minutes. Not sure Nuno got subs right as Silva seemed to spend most of his time marking Pogba, surely OO would have been a better option. Traore ran out of steam at the same time.

Very impressed with all the youngsters. RAN, However and Vitinha all looked excellent. Everyone else did really well, especially the back three and Neves.

Inevitable. Always expected to lose 1-0; didn't expect to do so without doing a thing wrong. Excellent performance tonight; harsh to criticise any aspect of it.

such a fucking bummer to lose to a last minute deflection, but the youngsters did really well for themselves. back 3 played superbly all game. still missing that final move to score. attack so much more positive until the 2nd half, more positive direct play than we've seen lately.

Sometimes Football has a way of kicking you in the bollocks and today was one of those times

No team should have to play two days after a previous game unless it is the same for both teams. Schedule has really screwed us over. Thanks PL.

Suckered at the end but we did invite them on for at least 20 mins. The subs just didn't work and allowed them to keep the ball coming back at us constantly.

Not sure Kilman should be just heading that overhead through ball away though. Saiss unlucky to see that deflected in as well.

Shit result after a good performance for 50-60 mins. The young starters all did well which is a positive.

Absolutely gutted and proud of every one of them out there, just circumstances dictated that we didn't have enough in the tank to hold out long enough, nobody deserves criticism tonight

One of the best performances of the season, resulting in absolutely nothing- undone by the ball going in off Saiss’s arse. What a heartbreaker.

On the plus side, the youngsters acquitted themselves very well indeed- Hoever I thought was excellent, and RAN grew very nicely into the game (his defensive work was much better than I’d have expected).

One thing, though- Traore is an absolute passenger at the moment, and we shouldn’t even be thinking of starting him if we can help it.

Spawny goal but Kilman gets caught under it and we shouldn’t have shown Rashford inside. Other than that we defended brilliantly. Unfortunately lost most of our attacking impetus in the second half once Vitinha and Neto went off.
Traore was nowhere near good enough, was a senior player tonight and needed to step up but he was pretty much awful. I’d happily bin him off in January tbh.
We desperately need to find a way to score more goals soon or we’ll just keep drifting down the table.
It’s frustrating as it was a generally good performance.

This. Truly fucked us, but they couldn't give a shit about us.
Thought they played really well. We just desperately need a striker like now. Diego Costa in a game like this would have got us one for sure with the balls in the box we had.

I thought we were excellent tonight, but I thought the lack of time between games killed us in the last 20 minutes.

I thought Hoever was superb, solid and quick with good use of the ball.
Ait Nouri did well, worked really hard and used his pace well.
Vitinha did well - not quite on the same wavelength as some of the others, but clearly is comfortable on the ball and keeps moving and looking.
I thought Traore was excellent, he had maguire and matic all over him, but still won headers and held the ball up, as well as some good runs.
Max Kilman was superb, really tight defensively and used the ball really well.
Saiss did brilliantly, defended superbly, great in the air and good use of the ball.
Neves and moutinho worked their absolute bollocks off, they will be absolutely shattered, and quality on the ball.

I think Pod got injured about a minute after coming on, he should probably have come off again rather than staying on and not being able to run properly.

im gutted for the boys, they did incredibly well with little recovery time and some very young starters, really proud of them.

Really proud of the kids, every one of them had a good game. Utd created very little, we were defensively excellent, gutted at the end. Its a pity we couldn't create much second half but all of the midfield and forward players were running on empty by 65 minutes, subs didn't seem to help. Its very harsh to criticise any of them. Fully deserved a point.

Fucking unlucky

man United really are the spawniest bunch of cunts. They barely deserve a point let alone three. Really bad habit of conceding late on continues. Really pissed off to lose like that even though, once again, we invited them on. Poor game management again. Please stop this. It doesn’t work. And Neves and Moutinho staring is now 0 2 7 I believe this season. .

Can’t reply in the match day thread so just want to say thanks for the abuse for having an opinion that we shouldn’t have been so negative so early. Much appreciated.

OO should have come on for Adama at any point in the second half as we were effectively playing with 10. We might have retained the ball better and actually moved up the pitch as a team, rather than asking Fabio to turn and run 20-30 yards himself.

At the risk of being called “thick” again, I’ll leave it there so you boys can all agree with each other that the only reason we lost is tiredness.

(PS - I really like Hoever & Kilman was excellent tonight, bar their goal)

Podence had studs down the back of his ankle for the second game in a row with no foul given

Cruel result and deserved a point. A 1-0 defeat at OT is no disgrace, especially with the personnel changes and fatigue.

Don't think we parked the bus, I think last half an hour we just tired and the forwards weren't as effective as any kind of outlet.

Great decision by Nuno re: the back three. Kilman was imperious and the other two excellent. Hoever was great all game, RAN grew into it and impressed me. I had him down as the more erratic defender (which is true), but he also had a couple of great defensive moments too. Certainly not a liability.

Thought Moutinho had a great game, Vitinha OK and would like a little more from Neves.

Thought the front three we finished with were all disappointing. Pod did nothing but point around the pitch Ince-style, Fabio tbh looked out of his depth (but that's understandable and forgivable) and Adama was the worst of the lot. First half OK, but he must have something going on physically, as he showed little or no pace and drive.

Credit to Nuno for almost pulling a good result off with the tired / inexperienced squad he had as his disposal.

Not a criticism of Fabio, but this game highlighted, if we didn't already know it, how desperately we need a striker now. Otherwise it hamstrings our whole style of play. With a striker we win this game IMO.
