Muso's Guitar Tart Waffle

And there she is. Sounds a lot better than I was expecting it to, loads of sustain for what’s a pretty small guitar.

Is it balanced as I know the SG's used to be neck heavy ?

Unbalanced guitar? Look no further than a BC Rich Warlock. Awful.
Not as bad as a Jackson Kelly, gigged with one once and spent the whole gig trying to hold it in place. Sold it virtually straight away.

Mate I had a Kramer 8 string bass with an aluminium neck, that thing could put you down faster than a horse tranquilliser

Useful to know. Always liked the Kelly shape, but I won’t go there if it has balance issues.

In happy guitar waffle news I am DELIGHTED to see what Korg Miku pedals are going for now. Bought one when they first came out and it is still pristine in its box.

Not quite like having a Klon Centaur but I paid 90 quid and they are pushing 400 now.

See there's a new music shop opening on Saturday, JD's music, Salop St. Might go over and have a look in the next few weeks.....cue, "why are you looking in guitar shops when you hardly play the ones you've got?" conversation.

What does everyone do with their old strings?
In the past I've just coiled them up, put em in a packet and chucked em in the bin.
Seems wrong that they end up in landfill.
Not sure why I haven't considered it before tbh.

I had an artist friend in college who would take old guitar strings for their projects. Could be worth a shout if you know anybody who is into that stuff.

What is a tele like with semi-hollow construction? I would expect very little bottom end, but you could get some epic jangly cleans.

It's not too bad, haven't heard it in years, since I gave it my bruv, its cavitied rather than a full hollow body and I tried to beef the sound with a DiMarzio PAF in the neck and a Seymour Duncan Little 59 humbucker in the bridge, I'll see if I can get a recording of it one of the days

You can make it sound like starlight. That's how I've always described Tele's. Love 'em.

Good humbucker choice for the bridge. Never tried the DiMarzio PAFs. My ESP is Seymour Duncan (59 and JB) loaded. The Schechter 7-string has got EMG 817 and 857. My Les Paul isn't a standard otherwise I wouldn't touch a thing, but I would love to swap out the pickups for something more aggressive.
