New Laptop Required

Windows 10 is currently pissing me off with my rig at work as it's saying the motherboard (x79) and chipset (Intel C600) aren't supported anymore so Windows can't upgrade.

It happens to be my printer drivers that have stopped working so no printer for my main design rig. It's pissing my CAD bloke off no end.

Did I say I didn’t? I said I never read a whole post bar the one above which proved you couldn’t take a post in context either.

Well if you haven't got the attention span to see out a few sentences I guess it's beyond you to make a decent analysis of the content. Keep at it buddy, you might crack it one day. I believe in you.

Here you go mate. Managed to bump this one up to an i5 processor, SSD for your main drive and HDD for you secondary, 8GB RAM and a Windows license for £633. You can downgrade to an i3 or go without Windows (if you have your own license) to make it even cheaper. Great spec for the money that is.

Last word on this. I don't use Windows 10 so there is no problem as things stand. It is not causing me a problem as I don't use it. If and when I have to I'll go back to my monitor/speaker combo which will negate any driver conflict issues. So, for the last time, I was pointing out that the beginner/average user who DOES NOT KNOW how to go into the BIOS and fanny around with that kind of thing will have issues, this has never been a problem in any previous Windows so the problem lies with 10 which was my point all along. My findings were through beta testing for Microsoft, that is all. And to this day they haven't fixed it.

Does that make sense? Hope so because I'm not going to explain it again.

I mean it's no fraction, don't get me wrong, but it was funny in it's own way.
 
T-Dan, just spoke with Cass as I bought her a brand new laptop with Windows 10 on for her birthday last year. It’s got Office installed (2016 I think) and has been used three times. She prefers to use my PC. To all intents and purposes it’s brand new really. I paid around £750 for it, I can do it for £500 if you’re interested.

I’ll dig the spec out later but I know it has an i5 CPU and 8gb RAM. It will be perfect for what your wife needs.

the "making things more difficult" bit was referring to forcing outdated OS's on yourself down the line due to some problems that are simply solved. I understand you're not on it now.

but you're right in that the conversation is done, I just wish you'd acted a bit more of a prick about it.
